I just crashed and burned on the 3rd control with a 2 minute mistake. I took a wrong path from 3 possibilities and got caught in a dead end.. Really disappointed and gutted.. I only jogged to the finish line from the 3rd control.. |

No mistakes in the b-final. It was a good run but doesn't take the disappointment away from the qualification. I was also chasing a guy most of the race. (not following because I tried to overtake him all the time)
And I'm not even that disappointed about missing the finals (I might have missed them with a good run too) but just about the way I totally messed up my qualification run. If I would have made a good run in the qualifications but missed the final by 10-20 seconds I could still be happy with my performance even if I would have missed the final..

| Orienteering sprints in Luukki.
I did some zig-zag orienteering on 2 good hill tops in Luukki. It's not sprint orienteering but orienteering where you move fast and easy but must keep good grip on your orienteering or you make a mistake. So kind of like sprint anyway.. (?) While I was zig-zagging I also put up some paper tissues for Liinu to use as controls.
ps. Is zig-zagging a real word?

My legs felt a little too stiff and I wasn't in my top physical shape. I Also made a stupid 20-25 second mistake on my way to 4th control. Didn't notice the path going right next to me and ran to wrong direction. Way too much mistakes to a sprint competition for a guy as slow as me. |
