Running 40:00 [3] 4.5 mi (8:53 / mi)
shoes: Hoka#3-Trail
40 minutes from my mom and dad's house, Skyline, back.
Dad passed away an hour later.
He really was my running supporter... drove me up the shore for my first 20 miler and gave me water along the way... and gave me this sage training advice when I was 16: "Just run as fast as you can for as far as you can every day. Each day you will go a little bit farther, like that Greek guy who lifted the calf until it grew to be a bull."
He started walking, biking and even running on *8/8/88 after quitting smoking. One day I was running along Skyline and saw him walking. We chatted a minute, and then I took off at about 7 min pace. I got to the Copper Top church a mile later, and glanced back and there he was. He said, "I thought you'd never look back!"
RIP old man.
