Running race 14:35:50 [3] 60.8 mi (14:24 / mi)

Tunnel Hill 100 ...er, 50, umm...60.8.
11:13:27 at 50
Long story short: my lower back started hurting at 5 miles and progressed to the point that I couldn't run past 50 miles. Power walked the last 11 miles about 15:30-16:00 pace. I kept lurching toward the ditch on my bad, right, side. Massage therapist at Eagle's Nest last week said he couldn't even believe how messed up my glutes, hips, and lower back were. So, yoga? Stretching? I have to.
It was going swimmingly for about 40. Did a nice mix of 2:00 jog/2:00 fast walk. No fatigue really, just the back (and sore feet until I changed shoes at 26) My HR was also problematic. for hours, it would go up over 160 every time I jogged.
I was just ahead of Mike Koppy (about 10 minutes at 40) but he was like a metronome. I literally can't run as slow as he does, and my walking pace is about the same as his running.
Keith Thompson appears to have dropped out at 50 (you get an official time and place and belt buckle, so many people do. I told Julie not to allow me to stop there no matter what I told her, and she didn't.)
Stomach behaved. No shits or vomiting. Ate all real food (potatoes, bean burritos, Thirsty Pagan pizza for breakfast. PBJ sammich, potato chowder)
Not sure I'll try again. Maybe parlay the bit of fitness I have into a quicker marathon or something....
