Running 39:00 [3]

While Josh was doing his training session, Russell and I went for a run around Walka tracks - wet, slippery tracks. Russell and I have such different running patterns - he's so bossy!! He always starts off slow but gets quicker and quicker, where as I'm a bit of a same pace girl. Our first lap was obviously for a warm-up for Russ's old legs - very very steady. Then the pace changed for the second, longer lap around. I wanted to avoid the long hill - but no, up we went. I even stopped and said "I want to go this way", but no, it was the hill or nothing. The tight corners on the tracks were just so slippery I felt like at times I was taking little dolly steps. Enjoyed the run, and was pleased I got out there in the cold - I say cold, but it's nothing like I anticipate the Canberra guys are putting up with. Saw some HUGE kangaroos.

Running 28:00 [3]

Great storm in Newcastle this arvo. Hans training at King Edward Park was called off so Elly and Josh headed out for a run, and lil Nic and I went for run to Nobby's beach. Thought we'd get saturated, but managed to time it perfectly and miss the rain. Enjoyable run. Really like running somewhere different, and always enjoy the coastal scenery for a change.

Running 48:24 [4]

Enjoyable run around Ashtonfield. Feels like ages since I've done a run from home. Have been nursing a couple of stitches in chest. Were meant to come out today, but Dr said not quite ready. He talked about chest incisions being notorious for splitting open - was pleased he left them in or I wouldn't have been game to exercise. Great weather here today for running. Felt good - no I actually felt exhausted but I feel good now!!

Cycling 30:00 [4]

Good to get back to a cycle class. Really tough even though it's just the half hour. 3 hills and couple of sprints.

Gym 15:00 [3]

One of those dreaded abs classes with lil Nic. How can 15 mins of low heart rate stuff be so painful?? I know it's good for me and must get easier, and it's only tough because I don't do enough abs work - there. Thinking positively!!

Bush Orienteering (Local Training Event 'The) 1:13:00 [3] 6.0 km (12:10 / km)

Tackled the Long Red today - fell to steveo's pressure. Think I might do it more regularly - or at least on the maps I like.
Not sure of my exact time, but about this, Not worth worrying about too much anyway.
Enjoyed the bush. Made a booboo at No. 2, and lost quite a bit of time. Seemed to be a bit off with compass work today, which made me lose some confidence and be over cautious. Think I rely on it too much anyway. Far from clean at most controls. Disappointing but feel good to have had a run. Feel like I'd like to do it again - and do so much better.
