Bush Orienteering (OShea) 1:30:00 [4]

Not sure of exact time for any of the OShea stuff.
Did the long course.
Did well for some legs, shocking for others.
Lost most time at #7 and #5 (the one where the boulder had moved, along with the control, further up the gully!!!), but it was the same for everyone, some just luckier than others. I think jr and AlexM maybe lost 10 mins, StK66 was only a couple of mins behind them, so maybe 8, joshwa maybe 6, and poor Rob Preston still hasn't found it ;-)
Still, a good course, just once again, Karen makes a big error. Walked a lot. Very steep and my shoes were slipping on the leaves heaps. Let my partner, mid size Nic down with this run. As I was on course, I was thinking how late she would be heading out for her run waiting for me to return, not leaving her time for recovery before the night event!!

Night Orienteering race (OShea) 46:00 [3]

Really loved this. Had a little head lamp and felt great running, which surprised me after the long course in the arvo. So disappointed to take the wrong track and run about an extra km and a half, but otherwise I just felt like I was running really well. Haven't ever enjoyed the night stuff before because my ankles are so bad I always have to watch the ground so carefully.

Running 30:00 [3]

Went for a run to Merewether from KE Park while joshwa and crew did their hills. Not many surfers out, but plenty of people walking and jogging and taking photos of the big waves. White water looked great.

Upon return to the park got suckered into doing 5 of the shorter hills. Might have been the slowest in the group, but it was 5 more hills than I'd planned ;-)
Not sure of exact time.

Park Orienteering (Newcastle ParkO #2) 39:30 [4] 5.2 km (7:36 / km)

"Rathmnes Park"
Enjoyed the run, thanks Charltons.
Disappointed with my time. Stuffed up #7. Actually needed my compass!!! Ended up south of the control, but with the way my map was orientated, everything fitted perfectly, just no control there. Wasted a fair bit of time, and took a bit to get back into the map so #8 was very steady as well. Bummer, but nice to have a bit of bush on the map.
I'm finding the distance of these Park events challenging with my current level of fitness, or lack of. Joshwa's garmin measured over 6.6km for the same course. With that distance there are quite a few long legs, which just involve running and running. I'd like more short legs ;-) to give me the chance for a breather as I punch!!

Running 25:00 [3]

Just a run from home. Felt pretty tired and lethargic. This is actual running time. Stopped to chat with mid size Nic a couple of times.

Cycling (Schwinn class) 45:00 [4]

Feeling a bit stiff in the hammies and glutes today, so was a bit half hearted about doing a cycle class. Joshwa was keen to hit the gym, so I made the effort. Glad I did, but certainly felt 'jelly legs' after.

Bush Orienteering (Local Minor event) 1:06:00 [3] 4.3 km (15:21 / km)

Not sure of exact time. This was the short red course. Found the map very steep, and scrubby. Felt like I was bushwalking at times; just unable to run. Navigated OK, just a couple of errors, but was just frustrated to not be able to get any pace going for any length of time.

Touch Footy (Grand Final) 40:00 [4]

Went down 5 - 0, but individually felt like I played my best game of the season. Was very hot and we only had one sub. I was only off for about 1 minute, I'd accidentally scratched a girl just before half time, so went off to tape my sharp nail. Was very exhausting. Really enjoyed it. Very keen to play in the Winter comp.
