Bush Orienteering (OShea) 1:30:00 [4]
Not sure of exact time for any of the OShea stuff.
Did the long course.
Did well for some legs, shocking for others.
Lost most time at #7 and #5 (the one where the boulder had moved, along with the control, further up the gully!!!), but it was the same for everyone, some just luckier than others. I think jr and AlexM maybe lost 10 mins, StK66 was only a couple of mins behind them, so maybe 8, joshwa maybe 6, and poor Rob Preston still hasn't found it ;-)
Still, a good course, just once again, Karen makes a big error. Walked a lot. Very steep and my shoes were slipping on the leaves heaps. Let my partner, mid size Nic down with this run. As I was on course, I was thinking how late she would be heading out for her run waiting for me to return, not leaving her time for recovery before the night event!!
Night Orienteering race (OShea) 46:00 [3]
Really loved this. Had a little head lamp and felt great running, which surprised me after the long course in the arvo. So disappointed to take the wrong track and run about an extra km and a half, but otherwise I just felt like I was running really well. Haven't ever enjoyed the night stuff before because my ankles are so bad I always have to watch the ground so carefully.
