Park Orienteering 18:58 [4] 2.9 km (6:32 / km)

World Masters Sprint WarmUp
"Callan Park"
Super course - thanks joshyb. Lots of positive comments.
Really loved the map, the course and the chance to run against some of the Masters Competitors - (not entered in the official events).

Pleased with my fitness and navigation.
Ended up 3rd on the course I think.
Feeling pretty good at the moment - should have given the Master's a crack maybe!! It's amazing what a difference having a few orienteering runs in a week can make!!
I'll enjoy helping at the start for the NSW Juniors at the sprint events though.

Note

Thanks to organisers, course setters and all involved in the Vic 09 Bushrangers Carnival. I had a really enjoyable week and got to run some great courses in terrific terrain. A HUGE job for those involved - bet you're all relieved it's over!!
Thanks also to those responsible for organisation and courses at ACT 2-days. What a terrific way to start my holiday. Even in such terrible weather, I loved running on both maps. .... Hey the catering was SUPERB!!!
Done a lot of travelling in the last 10 days - home for one night, then off to Sydney to help with the Masters.
Josh has set courses for a warm-up event at Callan Park on Friday. Can't wait to run that!!

Bush Orienteering (ACT 2 Days) 51:43 [4] 6.5 km (7:57 / km)

"Campbell Park"
Absolutely loved this.
So open and fast - or potentially for those young fast ones!!!
For the overseas visitors in the last two days they've had such variety of Australian terrain, and so many kangaroos out there today.
Lots of OS people taking photos of our wildlife.
Shame about the FREEZING weather.
Pretty happy with my run.
Only a couple of minor hiccups - like over running the first one..
Ended up 11th on course 2B, with just maybe three women ahead of me.

Bush Orienteering (ACT 2 Days) 1:02:23 [3] 4.5 km (13:52 / km)

"Honeysuckle"
Really enjoyed this course. Went out with the intention of taking it carefully and was pretty pleased with my navigation.
Was asked twice on my course "Where am I". Ignored the first, and stopped for the second - he was waiting at the control. Lost well over a minute here, probably closer to two. I kept trying to go, but he'd say "So is it here".... In the end, once I orientated his map correctly, he actually had a control there, but obviously wasn't meant to be looking for it yet. Was pretty cranky after that. Never again!!!
Ended up 10th on Course 2B, and I think 3rd Woman.

Bush Orienteering (Aust Relays) 45:49 [4] 4.5 km (10:11 / km)

"Mt Killawarra"
Was 2nd leg.
Went out there not feeling pressured, but just hoping to navigate well. Felt I did OK, and picked up the pace as I got my confidence.
Really like this map.
