Street Orienteering 44:07 [3]

Went to the 'Lakelands' map and used the StreetO course - I didn't get to run it during the season.
Just drew myself a course and followed it. Kept pretty good pace which I was pleased about. Estimated it would take about 45 mins, so was pretty close. I didn't have the questions to answer, so just ran to the control circles.
Was raining for the last 20 mins which was nice, but didn't enjoy the thunder and lightning much.

Running 30:00 [3]

Not sure of exact time. Was longer than 30 mins, but included a few spots of walking :(
Felt absolutely terrible today. I'm sure in Maitland at the time I ran (4.30ish) it was still mid 30's with GUSTY winds, and that was a headwind the entire way.
Missed the cycle class as it was an early one and I couldn't drag myself out of the pool when the temp outside was so hot. Then when it was looking like it was going to storm I figured I'd better get out there and do a short run or I'd be using the thunder and lightning as an excuse. Just ran over to Smyth to meet Josh.
Feel like it was a waste of time training wise, but I guess it was better than doing nothing....... plus it's my seventh column for the week :)

Running 20:00 [4]

Short session on Russ's flat section of road.
Wow, if I do something to log tomorrow that will be a full week !!!!
People will think they're looking at GrantM's log :)
....................... just shorter columns

Street Orienteering (StreetO) 46:30 [4]

'Newcastle'
Glad I tackled some hills today, and felt pretty good running.
My route: 2A 3A 1C 1D 1E 2B 1F 3B 2E 1G 2H 1J 2G 3C 2F 1K 2L 3F 2D 3G = 38 points with 2 point penalty.
After 3C, should have gone 1S 2K 3D 1P then to 2L and maybe dropped 3G. Similar distance, but flatter. Plus I had trouble with 2F, with the wrong word on the clue, and took me ages to find the 'distance to Teralba' at 3G.
Really enjoyed it, and felt it was a great training run for me today with the hills, Thanks Alex and Damian.

After running the CC Streeto on the weekend where they have little orange and white containers rather than questions, I realised how much time I waste answering questions and flipping my map over - isn't very good for my control flow.

Street Orienteering race (CCStreetO) 40:00 [4]

Finally made it to a Central Coast Street Event for the season. I always love them :)
New map and great running conditions. Steep area but only one massive hill to tackle on the course.
45 min score event. Disappointingly I came in 5 mins early. Caught Michele and tried to encourage her to keep with me. Think the majority of people headed out the same way. At the end of a loop I realised I was going to be early and lots of people would be able to score what I'd scored so far. Was quite a distance to get an extra 10 point control, but I got it, and once there, should have score the extra 60 points close by, but didn't. Could certainly have got them in 5 mins.
Ah well. Great fun and great training.
Nice to catch up with the Central Coast crew, and of course the entire Garingal club in the area for a Xmas party!!!
Lunch at Killcare was divine
