Park Orienteering (Twilight Run) 36:37 [4]

"Jesmond Park
Bit of park, street and bush. Great little map. Ran the long course. Poor route choice for the long leg, and I ran up and down the track at #11 not able to see it, then realised I needed to climb up the embankment !!
Otherwise OK. Really enjoyed it, although once again, ths mozzies were in abundance.

Night Orienteering (Night O) 21:00 [3] 2.3 km (9:08 / km)

"Jesmond Park
Ran the short course after dark with Nicola.
Good fun. Was a bit of a help having already been on the map.
We were a bit slow exchanging the map after each control and then getting our bearings :)

Bush Orienteering 40:00 [3] 5.2 km (7:42 / km)

Local bush event - only moderate navigation courses on offer, but was good fun. Bit annoyed about #6 - lost maybe 5 minutes looking for it. Wondered if I was in the wrong spot along the track, and backtracked, then ran further again. Geoff Todkill had started two minutes before me and he was still searching for it as well, and then StK66 came along (started two minutes behind me..... bugger!!). We eventually located it. So I reckon Geoff probably lost close to 7 minutes and Russ about three. One consolation was that two legends of the sport - Nick Dent and Leepback, both DNF'd because they never did find #6. That makes me feel better ;)
Enjoyed the rest of the course - small errors but nothing major. Ws pretty hot.
