Saturday May 31 | ||
| Orienteering (Blue Lightning) 20:00 [2] 2 km (10:00 / km) | ||
| Practicing being really accurate for a short distance - lots of little controls close together, changing direction all the time. | ||
| Orienteering race 43:00 [3] 5.3 km (8:07 / km) | ||
| Pretty terrible - made some little mistakes and felt really tired the whole way. | ||
Friday May 30 | ||
| Running 45:00 [3] | ||
| Yay I decided I wanted to run for longer than I usually do when I'm running by myself (not orienteering). hehe thought about not admitting that I'm proud of a run that loads of people would say is too short, but then I decided I didn't care coz it's still longer for me :D
Ran down to the lake then around the two bridges back to where I started then home, not going too fast coz I didn't know how long it was going to be...
| C • loads of people 5 | ||

Wednesday May 28 | ||
| Cycling 1:15:00 [2] | ||
| To and from school and then to training in the afternoon. | ||
| Running warm up/down 10:00 [3] | ||
| 8 mins warm up then just a couple of minutes slow jogging afterwards. Plus some stretching. | ||
| Running (Blue Lightning) 30:00 [3] | ||
| Lots of fun - running from the side of the lake through the sculpture garden and rose gardens etc. and we did little excercise like playing tips in the rose garden, a soldier relay (?? not sure if that's what it was called), runnning backwards and sprinting for a little while. With quite a few tiny stops in between some of them. Ran with a map for part of it. Felt good - we weren't going that fast really but still I didn't get at all tired. Felt like I could run home afterwards but it was getting dark and mum was picking me and my bike up :(. It's so much easier running with other people!! | ||
| C • FUN! 2 | ||
Tuesday May 27 | ||
| Running race 30 [3] | ||
| racing the bus to get to the bus stop before it :P | ||
| C • :O 4 | ||
| Note | ||
| grr the stupid darkness!! i had no time when it was light to train today and couldn't ride to school coz of musical rehearsals afterwards.
unless dancing and running around stage for 2 1/2 hours counts as training? lol i wish.
Monday May 26 | ||
| Cycling (To and from school.) 1:00:00 [2] | ||
| Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] | ||
| ow it was painful and sluggish my calves hurt :( | ||
| Running hills 20:00 [4] | ||
| mt. watertank intervals :P (x10) | ||
| C • hills 7 | ||
Sunday May 25 | ||
| Orienteering race 37:40 [4] 4.4 km (8:34 / km) | ||
| ACT schools team selection race at Murryong (felled pine forest).
Made a really really stupid mistake on number 2 where I went too far into this pretty steep gully, kept going up the other side of it, came up onto a track but didn't actually realise it was a track for a little while!!! then tried to figure everything out and finally realised that i was on a track and that a knoll with a clearing was coming up on my right. so then i ran back down into the gully and up the other side all the way back to the control. grr why can't I navigate anymore??? Anyway the rest of the course (lol there were only 6 other controls) was pretty fine except that I wasn't actually tired when I finished so I guess I should have run faster somehow, without tripping over or spearing myself on all the logs everywhere.
| C • Hey! 2 | ||
Saturday May 24 | ||
| Orienteering race 32:20 [4] ** 5.9 km (5:29 / km) | ||
| Commonwealth Park - nice and easy. Fun fun no mistakes didn't really have anyone in front of me to make me go faster like usual but seemed a reasonable time still. | ||
| C • wooo hooo 4 | ||
| Cycling 20:00 [2] | ||
| To and from orienteering. | ||
Friday May 23 | ||
| Running 21:52 [4] | ||
| hmm the time for this run (same as Monday) just keeps getting faster ... seems a bit odd. Then again I tried really hard today coz of not training yesterday and on Tuesday. | ||
| C • lalalalala 4 | ||
| Stretching 10:00 [1] | ||
| Stretched (haha i never stretch for longer than about 10 seconds per stretch so I just had to include this :P) between run and hills. | ||
| Running hills 20:22 [3] | ||
| (Fairly slowly) up and down the hill going up to the watertank behind Holmes Cres 11 times. | ||
| Note | ||
| There was a muscle that felt a bit sore while i was running today but not too bad so i just kept going. sorta on the back of my right calf but on the inside side. | ||
Wednesday May 21 | ||
| Running race (North Canberra X-country) 17:49 [4] 4 km (4:27 / km) vdot: 43.3 | ||
| ha ha but not at all across country. at stromlo forest park on the new track that's all pretty and green and smooth :) not much competition ... 5 in my age group! grr 15 and 16 yr old girls are soo lazy. anyway i came second by not that much to a girl who does proper running training with a coach and stuff ... but I think she would have been a lot further ahead if she didn't have asthma!
I started getting a stitch warming up :O (oh no!!) and thought it was going to make me go terrible, but it never came back in the race - wierd.
| C • george is 5 | ||
| Running (Blue Lightning) 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| Run from the Poland's house along the reserve to the Mt. Ainslie walking track, up the walking track, down the walking track, back through campbell via Luke's wierd route choice :P back home. Pretty good but tiiired. (especially as it took soooo long to get there!)
12 minutes somethingorother i can't remember and my pedometer thingy doesn't have lap splits to the top of the mountain from the track. Definitely time to get a digital watch.
Monday May 19 | ||
| Running 22:50 [3] | ||
| This is a run I do quite often - i wish i knew how long it is! oh well anyway -
Morning run in the freeeeeezing coldness!!!!!! how am i meant to train when the only time i have free when it's actually light it's so cold!? Didn't warm up (didn't really have much time), so the first ten minutes were kinda sore. And then the hills at the end hurt as usual. so basically almost the whole thing hurt :P
| Cycling 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| Rode to school, then to piano lesson after school and then home. | ||
| Note | ||
| 1 hour tennis lesson -
Don't think this should really count as training as it's pretty low key...
| C • sure thing... cos it's like... 3 | ||
Sunday May 18 | ||
| Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] | ||
| Jogging to start before and walking and jogging back afterwards. | ||
| Orienteering intervals (Blue Lightning) 10:00 [3] | ||
| Three short loops of two controls at Majura Pines. | ||
| Orienteering 35:00 [3] 5 km (7:00 / km) | ||
| Pine forest course. Fine except i temporarily orgot the three furtherest away controls didn't have tapes so at the first i couldn't work out why it wasn't there when i thought i was in the right spot! :P | ||
| Note | ||
| I have no idea how long each bit of training today was I just estimated! I think I should get a proper digital watch where you can record more than one time - lap timing i think? | ||
| C • yesss 7 | ||
Saturday May 17 | ||
| Orienteering 15:00 [3] 2 km (7:30 / km) | ||
| Blue Lightning navigational training - using handrails.
Took it easy before actual course. No mistakes (v easy though :P)
| C • Easy 3 | ||
| Orienteering race 40:00 [3] 4.7 km (8:31 / km) | ||
| Saturday series at Aranda Bushlands. Really really COLD!!! And to think it's still Autumn :(
Good run - only one smallish mistake.
| C • AGOGO 3 | ||
| Orienteering (Night-O!!!) 50:00 [3] 5 km (10:00 / km) | ||
| My first ever night-o!!!! o it was tricky. lol. and slightly scary. i went extra slowly and carefully coz i decided that if i got lost/misplaced i would stay lost/misplaced forever and ever, until a giant kangaroo came and boxed me into oblivion. lol. but anyway it was fun. i have no idea if it actually was 50 mins but oh well. | ||
| C • LOL 1 | ||
Friday May 16 | ||
| Running hills 22:00 [4] | ||
| Ran up Mt. Ainslie (in the rain/light drizzle) from the bottom of the walking track - well actually it was more like run for a while, then stop and get breath back for a while, then run for a while. ouch!!! made me feel so unfit...
Then I ran down which was obviously wayy easier!
| Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] | ||
| 11 mins to bottom of Mt. Ainslie.
4 mins cool down after (then walk back home)
Thursday May 15 | ||
| Running intervals 16:00 [3] | ||
| Well maybe not intervals... i dunno - running for a certain amount of time rather than a certain distance. Around oval. As explained by nomi who was explained to by josh! yay nomi we were long distance training partners - same thing sameish time of day but far apart...
1.30 recovery jog, 1.30 sprint x 2 1.00 recovery jog, 1.00 sprint x 2 0.45 recovery jog, 0.45 sprint x 2 0.30 recovery jog, 0.30 sprint x 2 0.15 recovery jog, 0.15 sprint x 2 Went pretty well I guess since I've never done this type of thing before.
| C • woah 4 | ||
| Running warm up/down 10:00 [1] | ||
Wednesday May 14 | ||
| Orienteering intervals 50:00 [3] ** 5 km (10:00 / km) | ||
| Blue Lightning training at the pinnacle
4 x 1.2kmish loops with breaks in between. Should have brought a compass - I'm really bad at orienteering without one and ended up just following ppl while trying to work out exactly where I was. Which meant I couldn't really overtake them could I!? Oh well it was funnn - good work for organising it nomi and luke!

| Cycling (to school!) 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| Easy ride on the way to school, (downhill or flat the whole way!) Pushed harder up the hills on the way home. I should ride way more often than I do.. | ||
| Running warm up/down 10:00 [2] | ||
| Warm-up before intervals and cool down after. | ||
