Orienteering race 37:40 [4] 4.4 km (8:34 / km)
ACT schools team selection race at Murryong (felled pine forest).
Made a really really stupid mistake on number 2 where I went too far into this pretty steep gully, kept going up the other side of it, came up onto a track but didn't actually realise it was a track for a little while!!! then tried to figure everything out and finally realised that i was on a track and that a knoll with a clearing was coming up on my right. so then i ran back down into the gully and up the other side all the way back to the control. grr why can't I navigate anymore??? Anyway the rest of the course (lol there were only 6 other controls) was pretty fine except that I wasn't actually tired when I finished so I guess I should have run faster somehow, without tripping over or spearing myself on all the logs everywhere.
C • Hey! 2

Saturday May 24

Orienteering race 32:20 [4] ** 5.9 km (5:29 / km)
Commonwealth Park - nice and easy. Fun fun no mistakes didn't really have anyone in front of me to make me go faster like usual but seemed a reasonable time still.
C • wooo hooo 4
Cycling 20:00 [2]
To and from orienteering.

Friday May 23

Running 21:52 [4]
hmm the time for this run (same as Monday) just keeps getting faster ... seems a bit odd. Then again I tried really hard today coz of not training yesterday and on Tuesday.

Stretching 10:00 [1]
Stretched (haha i never stretch for longer than about 10 seconds per stretch so I just had to include this :P) between run and hills.
Running hills 20:22 [3]
(Fairly slowly) up and down the hill going up to the watertank behind Holmes Cres 11 times.
Note
There was a muscle that felt a bit sore while i was running today but not too bad so i just kept going. sorta on the back of my right calf but on the inside side.

Wednesday May 21

Running race (North Canberra X-country) 17:49 [4] 4 km (4:27 / km) vdot: 43.3
ha ha but not at all across country. at stromlo forest park on the new track that's all pretty and green and smooth :) not much competition ... 5 in my age group! grr 15 and 16 yr old girls are soo lazy. anyway i came second by not that much to a girl who does proper running training with a coach and stuff ... but I think she would have been a lot further ahead if she didn't have asthma!
I started getting a stitch warming up :O (oh no!!) and thought it was going to make me go terrible, but it never came back in the race - wierd.
C • george is 5
Running (Blue Lightning) 1:00:00 [3]
Run from the Poland's house along the reserve to the Mt. Ainslie walking track, up the walking track, down the walking track, back through campbell via Luke's wierd route choice :P back home. Pretty good but tiiired. (especially as it took soooo long to get there!)
12 minutes somethingorother i can't remember and my pedometer thingy doesn't have lap splits to the top of the mountain from the track. Definitely time to get a digital watch.

Monday May 19

Running 22:50 [3]
This is a run I do quite often - i wish i knew how long it is! oh well anyway -
Morning run in the freeeeeezing coldness!!!!!! how am i meant to train when the only time i have free when it's actually light it's so cold!? Didn't warm up (didn't really have much time), so the first ten minutes were kinda sore. And then the hills at the end hurt as usual. so basically almost the whole thing hurt :P
Cycling 1:00:00 [3]
Rode to school, then to piano lesson after school and then home.
Note
1 hour tennis lesson -
Don't think this should really count as training as it's pretty low key...
C • sure thing... cos it's like... 3
