first ever mountainbiking outing, with lucy an fast inov8 people in the lakes. really really much more fun than running, especially fast bits and i was alot better than i thought id be..might be a cyclist seeing as i cant seem to run anymore

tebay race - dont seem to be able to run fast in a straight line without falling over any more...went over on ankle 5 minutes in. thought i'd done the ribs in again, but ankle too painful to carry on. so jogged/limped back
maybe i need fell running lessons!

couldnt do any exercises using/leaning on arms, legs, stomach or hips - so did lots and lots of sit ups and standing on one leg with eyes shut

edale fell race
fast up first hill, went along the edge fine until forgot to concentrate, then tripped, skidding along path on my stomach - took lots of skin off my hip bones and arms, big chunk out of elbow, also wrenched the ankle again. lay there thinking i'd broken my shoulder then luckily stu came along, insisted we both drop out and helped me hobble/jog back down the rocks

blood everywhere -all over my face, legs, stomach and worstly my top and shorts - at least i looked plenty injured enough to drop out!

took us aaages to get down - went awkward way down waterfall rock bits
st johns people took 45 minutes to sort me out, i was more annoyed about not winning than injuring myself but luckily the accelerate people gave me a prize anyway as apparently the 2nd woman told them i had been leading which was nice

Fell Race 59:00 [4] 5.75 mi (10:16 / mi) +770m 7:15 / mi

stretton hills, english champs. 9th f
poured with rain all round, freezing wintry + thick mist
but first enjoyable race for a very long time...careful (slow) downhills, was having fun until i went skidding over wet rocks + wrenched ankle 1km from end, stopped, then limped in, lost about 70 seconds and 1 place - annoying as top 8 women got prizes
great apart from ankle pain bit, luckily finally feel miles better an not tired!
