8/9 mile park loop including hills and 2 x 1.5 mile hilly loops of 10ish mins each
more snow today which made it harder to run but caused a beautiful snowy mist right across the fields so it did not matter so much

Tuesday Dec 22, 2009 #

family outing in the snow with dad and brother. i added some hill efforts.

Monday Dec 21, 2009 #

Sunday Dec 20, 2009 #

Running 1:55:00 [3]

to ammo box with neil from edale. thick thick snow. the coldest wind ive ever run in. but really fun and so pretty! Huge Icicles. snowing heavily by the end.
then, it took 3 hours to drive home through the ice and blizzard. got very hungry

Saturday Dec 19, 2009 #

Running 1:45:00 [2]

to ammo box with neil from near a reservoir. we ran up a frozen river path which was very icy and i kept falling over. there was snow and it was misty.
then we ate lots of chips in ladybower inn, there was an openfire, it was good

Friday Dec 18, 2009 #

Running 45:00 [3]

Thursday Dec 17, 2009 #

Wednesday Dec 16, 2009 #

Running 45:00 [2]
slept:0.0

i ran round with laura orienteering. id not been to bed since yesterday morning but we were both tired an so it was quite slow.
dont know why my legs ached when i've done nothing running for days. i was a bit tired when i got home too.

Monday Dec 14, 2009 #

Running 22:00 [3]

no time for circuits but managed to get out for a quick fastish run in the dark cold rain. it was very good to be outside for a bit.

Sunday Dec 13, 2009 #

Fell Race (Calderdale Way Relay) 1:25:00 [4] 10.72 mi (7:56 / mi)

Thursday Dec 10, 2009 #

Running 1:10:00 [3] 9.0 mi (7:47 / mi) +220m 7:14 / mi

afternoon rivelin run, muddy and very lovely sunshine through trees.
felt very tired for first 40 minutes, then i stopped thinking. then i decided a 20 minute 'effort' might be a good idea - it was.

Wednesday Dec 9, 2009 #

Running (orienteer sort of) 25:00 [1]

very annoying horrible day of working so orienteering was not the best plan. as i found out on the way to no 1. then my brain said no, so i jogged back.

Tuesday Dec 8, 2009 #

Spinning (am) 45:00 [5]

for the first time it was still dark when i left the house...spinning was full of orienteers and architects!

Running 44:20 [2]

i was not up for any sort of hills or track so did an easy run with lucy it was fun, and a good little break - we went to the fat cat and tesco too

Monday Dec 7, 2009 #

Running (am) 20:00 [2]

a little run because my legs needed stretching

Note
(rest day)

missed circuits as in uni til half7 then too busy and tired to run anyway

Sunday Dec 6, 2009 #

Fell Race (GRAVY PUD FELL RACE) 42:43 [4]

i missed breaking my record for this race by one second :( but it was very very muddy this year unlike last year when it was frozen and runnable so was probably actually a better run today.
very slippy, dangerous bridges, lots of gates and freezing hands but no cake

Warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Note

I saw things in the peak district for the first ever time today - I could see little streams and rocks and sheep and things it was so exciting I didnt know it looked so pretty and was not just a big blurred expanse of green and brown which is all I have been able to see for the past 2 years

Saturday Dec 5, 2009 #

Running 17:00 [3]

i went for a short fast late run because i was drawing the peak district all day, my legs are sore and i thought a chicken might be burning.

Friday Dec 4, 2009 #

Running 25:00 [2]

tired and busy until late-ish but finally dragged myself out and of course really glad i did as running made me happy again

Note

discovered lower legs are very sore when i press thumbs into them.

Thursday Dec 3, 2009 #

Running 21:30 [2]

down to boots to pick up new lenses - i can now see, but the world is smaller because it does not have half a centimeter of blur around everything any more

Note

i decided on no spinning or intervals - tight muscles at front of lower legs

Wednesday Dec 2, 2009 #

Running (william hills race) 52:37 [3] 7.6 mi (6:55 / mi) +143m 6:32 / mi

I cannot run and read maps together - so I'd planned to run with someone who knew the way - and did not look at the map before I set off.
but then i decided to run it the Other Way Round, alone, to get the long hill from hunters bar to crookes in (i liked this way round, its a good hill)

however looking at the map afterwards I did some daft long routes somehow adding a lot on. i had to keep stopping to stand and read map. wandered around for a while trying to find the leopold st one. And stood outside the train station for ages at one point wondering what i was doing there. oh well

Tuesday Dec 1, 2009 #

Spinning (am) 45:00 [4]

Warm up/down (am) 15:00 [2]

ice everywhere early this morning so careful running. did bit of extra cycling

Track session (pm) 22:00 [4]

meant to do 10x2mins but only did 7 - got pain then cramp in feet and both legs on the front/side - too cold maybe?? duno why else?
I really do not like unfinishing a running session - especially on such an uneven number as seven

Warm up/down (pm) 20:00 [1]

legs ok for warm up and down but feet cramps at home - how annoying
maybe i'm just not suitable for cold weather
