Drove up to Wallasey on the wirral and ran out and back along the coastal promenade. Pouring & windy & grey but lovely to run by the sea.

Northern road relays first leg. Felt great for about 1.5 miles then suddenly tired and struggled the rest. Maybe set off too quick? Really looking forward to a proper rest before the half marathon in 2 weeks. Hopefully will feel more energised.

Didn't really attack the session from the start for fear of blowing up - need to concentrate on getting the best out of each rep rather than worrying about how hard the ones coming up might feel.

However lungs & legs definitely had enough by the end.

Round ladybower & howden reservoirs anticlockwise from first parking layby on the right of the res rd. 2 x 10 mins slightly faster at 69-79 mins and 83-93 mins.
Despite spending half the night in a&e with Neil, felt way better after 2 rest days.

2 x mile, 1 x 0.5 mile, 1 x mile. 0.25 mile jog between.
Along Middlewood Rd towards Oughtibridge (nearly made it there).
Planned session was 5 x 1 mile but a bit tired and was running fairly slow times so cut it short. Hard to tell from garmin exact times as it only records pace every 7 seconds or so. But approx 6.02, 6.20(? - a bit uphill), 3.05, 6.10.

Road Race 58:10 [4] 9.0 mi (6:28 / mi)

Norton 9 - my longest ever road race. Set out with what I thought would be an easily achievable aim of 6.30s/mile - however it was incredibly windy on a very exposed course and I wasn't feeling amazing on the hills so this turned out to be tougher than expected. It was a good tempo session, but not a day for a fast time.
