Running 1:15:00 [1] 8.2 mi (9:09 / mi)

Easy jog round Rivelin and Stannington. Bailed on the planned long run as right leg tight again - knee and calf very niggly. Windy, muddy, slow and sore right leg meant unfortunately I did not enjoy this run at all.
Apart from yesterday, this has been an extremely rubbish week of running.

Cross Country Race 31:48 [5] 5.16 mi (6:10 / mi)

National XC at Wollaton Park - 37th. Felt ok after another enforced rest from niggles this week. Fast undulating course on firmish grass with short stretches of bogs, ditches and tussocks - really enjoyed these muddy bits and found myself looking forward to them as they nicely broke up the course.

Running warm up/down 55:00 [2] 6.5 mi (8:28 / mi)

3m w/u, 3.1m w/d

Running 30:00 [1] 3.5 mi (8:34 / mi)

Right hip not quite right - better than before but leg not moving quite right, muscles tight again and not feeling balanced.
Back to physio for si joint manipulations - definitely feeling more symmetrical after.

Running 30:00 [1] 3.5 mi (8:34 / mi)

morning jog to test leg - no good all very tight.
6 PM

Cross Trainer 30:00 [4]

Right leg very tight so precautionary no track. Cross trainer instead in the packed gym.
10 x 2 mins on level 16 with 20 seconds recovery (to reduce boredom). Couldn't get heart rate above 165 however hard I tried. So dull - very glad to get out of there asap.
7 PM

Circuits 20:00 [2]

8 PM

Note

Sports massage - right glute had spasmed up around sciatic nerve hence back, glute, hamstring, knee and calf all extremely tight. Taking it as a warning to take marathon training sensibly - main goal is to make the startline, not to run fast. Plus more stretching required.
