Swimming 1:45:00 [4]

Today I woke up early to go to the practice at Tantasqua High School because my coach invited me to go. I missed the first 15 minutes cause I left a little late. It was a pretty hard practice, in the middle we did five sets of four 50s. We did the sets on the 50 seconds, 80 seconds, 75 seconds, 60 seconds and then 50 seconds. Throughout practice we did a total of 3150 yards.

The first hour was pretty hard with 2000 yards. Then the last half hour we did drill 25s, and we finished with a 200 to get a total of 2900 yards.

It was warm and in the 50's so I decided to try out my new vibram shoes. In the beginning it felt odd without the extra cushioning. But When I finished I could definitely feel that it worked my calfs for than my normal shoes do.

Swam 2800 yards, we had plenty of rest and was an easy practice.

After I was done and in the locker room one of the men on the masters team asked me if I could lifeguard since the one thats supposed to be on duty was running late. So I guarded for half hour and then one of the YMCA boss' yelled at me because I didn't actually work at the Y.

I went to the weight room with one of my friends. So I ran on the treadmill for five minutes then I did free weights, pushups, and mostly core for the rest of the time.

The practice was pretty fast going. We didn't get much rest in between things and we swam a total of 2150 yards.

We had a home meet at our YMCA against the snappers for North Berkshire. There team was terrible they only had one 15 to 18 boy so we won both the medley and freestyle relay by default and my split was some where around 30 seconds for breaststroke in the medley and I got a 27 for the freestyle.

I also swam the 200 freestyle and I got a 2:14. By the end I had lapped the kid from the other team and i slowed down by 14 seconds in the second 100. If I had some better competition I could have done better in that and in the 100 breaststroke. In the Breast stroke I got a 1:11.52, I won but I was mad because I was .32 seconds away from qualifying for New Englands. I guess I will have to go half a second faster next time I swim it.

All the races were half as long as they usually are so I swam the 100 IM and got a 1:06, then I did the 50 butterfly and got 34.71, and then the 50 backstroke and got a 32.00

Easy practice only did 1375 yards, but we have a meet up in west field tomorrow were all the events are half as long as they usually are again, so that will be fun.

Ran with the tracks distance team today, I thought they were just going to do a long run but they ended up doing a workout. So instead of going home I just did it with them, and it wasn't that hard anyways.

We just did 4 800s and tried to keep it around a 5:30 mile pace.

This was a very easy practice, we only did 2700 yards and we had a lot of rest between each thing that we did.

Note

I took a look at the map from last weekend on Peter's log drew in my head what I did wrong. Then I actually found my map in my bag when I was looking for my homework. So I drew my course and went through it. The biggest mistake was when i was going form 11 to 10 I didn't notice on my map that I shouldn't be going up the hill. So that was a one minute mistake by over shooting 10 and then coming back to it.
