Warm up/down warm up/down 24:00 [2] 2.37 mi (10:08 / mi) +14m 9:57 / mi
shoes: Kanadia TR7 2

Jog round Brudholme Road and a lap of the park to warm up. Jog home again after session

Intervals 33:04 [4] 3.79 mi (8:44 / mi)
shoes: Kanadia TR7 2

This was a made up session, so maybe the breaks were too long? I dunno. Anyway, a pyramid - aiming to maintain pace between 7.02 and 7.12 mins/mile. I'm really crap at pace though, and my watch doesn't always help - it will beep after 100m to say I'm going too slow, then 100m later it says I'm going too fast. Anyway, have listed "average" paces in min/mile

400m - 7:00
600m - 6:48
800m - 6:53
1km - 7:02
800m - 7:06
600m - 7:05
400m - 7:04

with 2 minutes rest between each one. The 100m markers in the park make this mentally a lot easier because I can count down. Also, either I was being dumb last time and didn't see some of them, or the ones that I thought were missing have been replaced!

Evening medium lake loop with Tom. Stunning evening again, though for the sake of the hibernators I'm hoping it goes cold again soon.

Note

EU COST Climate-smart forestry meeting in work, so stayed for the evening talks and hobnobbing/meal apres. Got home at 11pm

Biking 1:50:24 [3] 12.75 mi (8:40 / mi) +319m 8:02 / mi

Went out for a ride with Vic (once I'd managed to get my bike lights to work). Out to Braithwaite via the Ullock Road, up to Force Crag minehouses (feels a lot more uphill on a bike than it looks!), whizzed back down (great fun) then home via the Swinside. I think my back tyre was a little flat which wasn't helping matters, mostly good fun apart from being a lot less bike-fit than Vic!

Running 4:24:59 [3] 10.95 mi (24:12 / mi) +1359m 17:28 / mi

Grand Tour of Great Gable (mostly). With Tom, mostly the same route as I did with Vic in December (Climber's Traverse, Wasdale up and down, Aaron Slack, up the path, Hellgate screes) but turned left instead of right the second time on the Climber's traverse and headed back to Seathwaite from Styhead. Felt reasonable, but hungry and a bit more tired than I would have liked to be by Aaron Slack - blaming an upset stomach this morning and the last few nights of bad sleep.

Stellar day though, shorts and tshirt and views from the Westmorland Cairn!
