Sunday Nov 1 #

Running 3:48:25 [3] 16.21 mi (14:05 / mi) +898m 12:01 / mi
shoes: Walshes 3rd pair

Long morning run with Zoe and Sheelagh. Higher-level lake route guided by Zoe - Walla, Ashness, Watendlath, Rosthwaite, Catbells and home. Really nice route (if a little slippy today with how wet it has been) and thoroughly enjoyable morning out. Makes the new no-group-exercise restrictions even more annoying, though at least we can still run with one other person out of the household I guess.

Note

Annoyingly, a fall I had early on in the run where I bent my foot back at a weird angle seems to have resulted in a swollen ankle and increasing soreness as the day has gone on. Icing and limping ahoy

Saturday Oct 31 #

Running 2:07:02 [2] 10.09 mi (12:35 / mi) +591m 10:39 / mi
shoes: Walshes 3rd pair

Glenderaterra with Partytown. Bit windy, legs got tired towards the end and foot started to get sore on last descent of Latrigg.

Friday Oct 30 #

Running 1:18:21 [2] 4.82 mi (16:15 / mi) +522m 12:10 / mi
shoes: Walshes 3rd pair

SOB with Tom. Was running quite well until my headtorch started running low which mean it kept flashing every ten minutes or so. Not sure how low it was as it lasted over half an hour and was still fine.

Swimming 15:00 [1]

Early doors splash with Vic. Didn't feel too cold, could have stayed in longer but Vic's knee was preventing her from kicking properly, so just did a lap of the whOOOSH and got out

Note

Left calf stiff when I woke up so some foam rolling calves, quads, lower back etc after swimming

Running 1:10:00 [2] 6.26 mi (11:11 / mi) +339m 9:34 / mi
shoes: Walshes 3rd pair

Time is ish as I paused my watch at the monument and forgot to restart it, d'oh. Rainy run with Zoe, out along the road to the back of Latrigg then the long drag up the shoulder, summit then down the main track home. Wet wet wet

Wednesday Oct 28 #

Yoga 30:00 [0]

Yoga for psoas plus some foam rolling

Running 1:06:34 [2] 5.63 mi (11:49 / mi) +324m 10:02 / mi
shoes: Walshes 2nd pair

Yomp up Latrigg via the big tree and the tunnel then off the shoulder and back along the front. Busy, had to dither about avoiding people a lot on SGL. Home via Coop for some lunch stuff (bread and cookies, diet of an athlete)

Tuesday Oct 27 #

Yoga 30:00 [0]

Yoga for psoas plus some bonus hip-opening stuff

Note

Return to climbing club. Not a huge fan of the wall at the moment mind you, felt quite crowded, difficult to keep space and no-one wearing masks

Monday Oct 26 #

Yoga 20:00 [0]

Back to it. Early doors yoga for psoas. Very stiff and creaky today, felt like hard work. Right hip flexor sore to the touch, which is unusual and not welcome

Note

Gonna try and rest my foot for a few days. Not uncomfortable on the bike, so will do that, but aim to not run. Shame the weather forecast is rubbish and I don't yet own sufficient bad weather cycling gear to make it pleasant

Biking 49:15 [3] 10.4 mi (4:44 / mi) +212m 4:27 / mi

Spin around the lake before dark. Generally felt pretty good, until something clunked in my right hip and it went quite sore for a while :/ eased off towards the end though.

Not sure how much to put the speed down to fitness, and how much to having a freshly serviced bike.... I'll go for a bit of both ;)
