Last-minute decision to head to the Berg with the latest snowfalls! Just Fran and me :)
Day 1 was up Langalibalele Pass from Giant's Castle Camp. Less snow than last year and also less icy (obvs, now that I had crampons and ice axe with me..) but still a beautiful day and all wonderfully alpine. Saw quite a few Basothos and their flocks in the escarpment valley at the top of the pass so went high up the valley to find a secluded spot as we were a little nervous camping there with just the two of us.
No issues during the night - just bliksem cold, going down to minus 9 degrees!
