Day 4: We decided to tackle the Bell Traverse anyway as the day dawned clear again. Powder snow on the exposed scrambles caused some sketchy moments and very slow going. Views of snow-covered peaks in all directions were amazing though! Got down to Cathedral Peak Hotel as the light was fading. Great hike!

Day 3: SNOW! The day dawned clear but soon enough the clouds were spilling over the escarpment and we were hiking in the driving snow all day. By the time we had reached Twins Cave, there was a good 10cm covering everywhere. Set up tents in the cave again to keep warm. It didn't get above zero degrees all day :-)

Day 2: Around the Mnweni Cutback to sleep in Ledger's Cave. Freezing wind blasted us all day and the cave was a bit of a wind funnel as well. Set up tents inside the cave to keep sheltered and warm.

Did a 4-day escarpment traverse from Sentinel to Cathedral Peak. Day 1: Up the Chain Ladders and across to camp behind Stimela Peak. Beautiful clear day, just very cold and windy.
