Into Barcelona. Great day along some of the less busy roads through Barcelona's outlying suburbs. Went over a moderate climb (537m col) and then downhill into the city. Being a Sunday during siesta, cycling in on a wide deserted road was kind of eerie. No traffic so painless ride in and staying at a great AirBnB apartment for the next 5 nights.

La Vilella Baxia to El Vendrell. Long day, but nice big climb up to the Muntanyes de Prades. Fortunately in the morning when it was still cool, as we had 900m to gain! Went past the 2000km mark early on. Great riding on weekends as all the roadies join us on their training rides :) First view of the Mediterranean from the top. 800m descent on the other side and then some hot riding across the plains to a campsite which no longer exists. Cycled an extra 5km into a bigger town, where we found a well-priced hotel.

Legs have been fine while riding, but really tired quads off the bike. Also lost 5kg according to the hotel scale. I suppose that's what you get for 26 days of riding with just 3 rest days :) Looking forward to those 4 days of recovery in Barcelona.

Fuentespalda to La Vilella Baxia. Most of today was a long gradual downhill. With a tailwind :) We did have to pay for our sins later with some ridiculously steep uphills during the hottest part of the day. But it was scenic nonetheless. In a rented apartment tonight, with another big day planned tomorrow.

Villafranca del Cid to Fuentespalda. Another blue sky day, but quite a bit of headwind today, hence all the wind turbines we passed. Some long slow drags past hilltop villages with a very sweet downhill mountain pass at the end of the day. Camping tonight. 3 days to Barcelona!

What a day! Spain was definitely showing off today... one of our longest days with the most climb but so rewarding with the mountain passes, villages and views we got to soak in! All under a bright blue sky and temps in the low 20s :) Aimed for a campsite near Villafranca del Cid, found it closed, and stayed in a cheap hotel in town instead.

Calles to Manzanera. Felt like we climbed all day! Very gradually, but loads of uphill today. And movescount confirms it with 3h36m of ascent time :) Some great views towards the end of the day.
