orienteering race 1:08:21 [3] 6.35 km (10:46 / km) +110m 9:54 / km

Blue course at Haw Park. Set off straight into some unmapped brambles and it went downhill from there. No energy, and not enough concentration made it all a lot a harder than it needed to be. Felt a bit stronger as the race went on and there were some nice bits of woods and blue bells.

running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

running 52:58 [3] 9.37 km (5:39 / km) +150m 5:14 / km

From Thornbridge, along Monsal Trail to Monsal head, along bottom of Monsal Dale, and back up through Ashford in the Water. A nice bit of the peaks I have never visited before, and a good near-10k loop.

running 2:13:55 [4] 22.36 km (5:59 / km) +100m 5:51 / km

Long run (going to try to do one each week). Time is slow considering it was on average downhill (starting at home and finishing at EIS). Took it fairly steady aerobically, just to see how my body copes with the longer distance. It was probably half to two thirds off road, which helps, but even so there seem to be no ill effects apart from one small blister.

Up to crosspool then across Bell Hagg and Fox Hagg, down to reservoir at Rivelin, then all the way along rivelin valley to Hillsborough, into town and out to EIS along the canal.
