combination of running up and down the stairs for 15 mins to warm up before i went out in the rain, and walking the last mile of my run after i got ITB pain.

running 38:30 [4] 6.9 km (5:35 / km) +100m 5:12 / km

The rain has been so bad this week i really haven't felt like going out in it; even considered joining a gym today, but didn't take me long to realise I would prefer the rain to the treadmill. i'd decided the time I would go out, then sawy the rain was even heavier and I just couldnt do it. So i ran up and down three flights of stairs several times, putting stuff away (emplying my mum's "running? just do housework" theory), and after 15 mins was nice and warmed up and and the rain didnt seem too bad after all. Set off up the parks, the porter brook was as high as I ever remember it being, and i got very soggy. Decided a 5 mile loop would be best, but after 4 my ITB was hurting and i walked the last mile, feeling a little self conscious walking in running gear. Stetched the ITB when I got home.

Park Run. This is going to be a long hard slog back to fitness. Witnessed quite a few people finishing ahead of me today who had, shall we say, some significant extra natural weight to carry :(

10 seconds short of 2 minutes slower than my PB. Very slow at the start due to lots of runners, but even so...

Second slowest run so far.

felt slightly less bad than monday. rain put me off going out at all the last few days. really disappointed to have had so much time off and lost so much fitness, and gained weight I imagine.

Oh dear. First run in about a month (too busy, too ill, too holidaying/too ill again), and it shows. Not felt this unfit for about 7 years (ie before I started running). Guess I haven't lost quite everything - couldn't have run 2 miles when I started. Bum.

Guessed the time.
