Note
About an hour down at the marsh with Zack, chainsaw and loppers. There are several trees partly down and we were cutting the tops into pieces small enough to drag to a chipping pile and cutting the larger limbs and trunks into firewood, hauling it out to where we can pile it in the Polaris later. Just working on the first big tree in our path today, and just until the chainsaw batteries died. We don't much use the gas saws anymore, at least unless we are dealing with something very large. The battery powered Makita saws are very convenient. Low noise, no idling, just on or off, push-button start. You still need to remember to supply them with bar oil, but otherwise a good choice for a gentleman tree cutter like me.
