Orienteering race 28:31 [5] *** 2.9 km (9:50 / km) +50m 9:03 / km
spiked:14/15c slept:7.25 weight:159.5lbs shoes: integrator-spikes

Sprint 1 at Trout Brook Valley
A little trouble getting into the map, including a big boom at #2 - just not paying enough attention. From 12 to 13 wandered right on the way there and got into a knee deep marsh. Not so bad, except for the face plant half way across. Really cold!!!

Orienteering race 19:24 [5] *** 2.3 km (8:26 / km) +50m 7:36 / km
spiked:14/14c shoes: integrator-spikes

Sprint 2, Trout Brook Valley. Much better run. No mistakes - just a little slow.

Orienteering race 22:07 [5] *** 2.2 km (10:03 / km) +75m 8:35 / km
spiked:10/14c shoes: integrator-spikes

Sprint 3 Trout Brook Valley. No major mistakes - just a few minor bobbles, but at this speed they cost plenty. I could really feel the hills after the first two runs, and so was much slower. Got home in time to spread some more hay on the trails.

Running 45:55 [4] 5.6 mi (8:12 / mi)

Pleasant valley up East river rd and back. Splits at 1.1, 2.8 and 4.5 of 8:52, 23:34; 37:56. I was certainly going faster back in the spring. Bridge work doesn't seem to enhance speed. I must need more golf.

Hike 2:15:00 [1] 7.0 mi (19:17 / mi)

Tunxis trail loop with Rhonda and Hazel. Feeling tired after the weekend, and my heel is still pretty sore from bruising it around #5 on day 2 at Beaver Brook.

weights 20:00 [1]

bench presses, squats, pulldowns, leg extensions over in the gym, and chatting up Rhonda and Mary Ellen before their class, which I skipped!
