Sunday May 7

Orienteering race 1:27:11 [4] *** 5.9 km (14:47 / km)
WP Day 2 Green course. Had some big problems finding #8 and #13, so kind of frustrating. Otherwise ok. Physically, had a hard time going uphill through blueberries. Need to get stronger.
Note
Golf with Tom and Katie Noonan at Simsbury Farms. Usual mixture of exhilaration and frustration (kind of like orienteering), but notable for a first. First time reaching a par 5 in 2 (Simsbury Farms #14). Then eagle putt hit back of hole and popped up in the air, settling on the lip, so the first eagle will have to wait, perhaps a really long time.

Saturday May 6

Event: West Point A meet

Orienteering race 1:09:36 [4] *** 4.9 km (14:12 / km) +170m 12:06 / km
West Pt Green X day 1. Really fine course with interesting route choice problems, executed rather poorly by me! Particularly blew the route choice on 2-3 and 9-10, costing time and effort. Generally ok finding the controls once I got there, though.
Orienteering race 26:35 [5] *** 2.8 km (9:30 / km)
Sprint at W.P. A couple of clunkers, including leaving in wrong direction from #1 and not seeing #15 on the map and having to backtrack. Otherwise ok. That's just as fast as I go.

Exhausted afterwards, and took a nap at the hotel before dinner.

Thursday May 4

Running 43:04 [3] 4.66 mi (9:15 / mi)
Bunker Hill- Hanson-Barbourtown route. Much better than last few days - must be recovering finally from long-o. Also under pressure to get back for a 10am conference call - back with two minutes to spare. Enough to control my breathing, but not my perspiration.
Note
Golf with the boys at Rockledge.

Wednesday May 3

Running 46:00 [3] 4.3 mi (10:42 / mi)
Down Bunker Hill to Hanson and then Barbourtown and home. Sluggish.

Tuesday May 2

Running 20:00 [3] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
A shorter but no less strained outing around Indianapolis in the am. Subset of last evening's jaunt.

Monday May 1

Running 39:00 [2] 3.9 mi (10:00 / mi)
slept:6.5 weight:163.5lbs
Painful, difficult trot around Indianapolis . Tired from yesterday, and just sore up the whole right side, from the foot to the calf, knee and lower back.
