Event: WCOC Sessions Woods

Orienteering 50:00 [2]
Setting out yellow and white controls
Orienteering race 1:06:19 [4] 6 km (11:03 / km)
Sessions red course. Much faster than I would have been if I actually had to read the map. Still made two bobbles ~2 minutes + total. Pretty tired in the second half.

Rhonda's evening class. Hadn't done it in a while, and feeling pretty sore from yesterday made it even harder. Felt like it was doing me a lot of good. Quite a collection of lovely young yoga acolytes and one heavy-footed clummox, your faithful correspondent.

Sunday Oct 29

Event: WCOC Osbornedale State Park

Orienteering race 1:18:32 [4] 6.3 mi (12:28 / mi)
weight:168lbs
A fine day at Osbornedale. Nice courses by Rich, although a lot of climb for a guy like me. Generally good navigation, and the icing on the cake was the fine margin over Phil.
Orienteering (control pickup) 1:00:00 [3]
Control pickup at Osbornedale, primarily in S part. Needed the controls for meet at Sessions Saturday.
Orienteering (Control setting) 1:00:00 [3]
Put out the four southern controls at Sessions. Didn't get there until 4:30, and was hoping to get them all set and get as far as the main trail before dark. Nice pink streamers I set out last week helped a lot. It was pretty dusky when I scrambled down the rocky hillside to the stream and picked my way across on rocks. After that a bit of moonlight and got out to the main trail where the footing is good. Back to the car at 5:30.
