Sunday Jun 10

Event: Crandalls Park Sprints

Orienteering race 24:23 [3]*** 2.5 km (9:45 / km)
spiked:8/10c weight:170lbs
Sprint A at Crandalls. Fine running in shorts! Excellent terrain, and a reasonable effort.
Orienteering race 28:08 [3]*** 2.6 km (10:49 / km)
spiked:7/8c
Sprint B Crandalls. Another fine course by Clint.
Orienteering race 1:01:55 [3]*** 4.4 km (14:04 / km)
spiked:11/14c
Green course. Upper terrain not used for the sprint was some of the nicest terrain I've been in. Not 100% field checked yet, but certainly adequate for navigation and very nice running with lots of detail. I was really tired starting out, and did a few dumb things.
Orienteering 2:00:00 [1]
Wandering around in my woods checking out JJ's map updates and course planning. I really need to import some laurel weevils.

Sprint A - Splits

Sprint B - Splits

Green - Splits

Thursday Jun 7

Hike 1:15:00 [3]
With Rhonda and Hazel in Peoples State Forest, along Jessie Girard Trail atop the ridge. Feet and legs tired from yesterday's run, so didn't much feel like running today.

Wednesday Jun 6

Running 1:27:38 [3]10.9 km (8:02 / km) +451m 6:40 / km
weight:170lbs
Tunxis trail loop with Clint. Rather strenuous for me. Just a warmup for Clint, who is off to ride his recumbent next. Clint brought his Garmin and resolved the question that has been bedeviling me for some time - how long is this run? I had guessed 6 to 7 miles and it now seems to be 6.8. He will send me a plot of it later.

Tuesday Jun 5

Running 46:30 [3]4.4 mi (10:34 / mi)
Down Barbourtown and up Bunker Hill.
C • Hey, that's some real hills!
