At McLean Game Refuge with Rhonda. She was looking for a short, easy run - clockwise loop from corner of Barndoor Hills and Simsbury Rds. As it was pretty steamy, we both wore blue hats, which made for an interesting experiment. When we run on roads, Rhonda always runs about a half stride in front, but on trails she prefers to run behind. I assume there are a lot of variables, but I wondered if being second in line would make her more attractive to FDFs than the person running first. Kind of analogous to the theory about rattlesnakes, that the first person wakes it up, the second makes it mad and the third gets whacked. One might also wonder about whether a taller or shorter person would collect more, and about whatever the quality of a person's sweat or other bodily profile might represent in FDF attraction.
Anyway, the results are in: At the end, I was 31-2, while Rhonda was 43-0, with one wandering around in her hair.
