| Along the trail from Pleasant Valley S to the guitar factory in New Hartford and back, with Rhonda and Hazel. Foot still quite sore. Massage and ice last night helped a bit, but it is quite bothersome. Had a brief chat with a couple of boys who were scrambling around in one of the erosion gullies along the trail. Hazel jumped down into the gully to see if that was fun, and they helped her get back out, as it was pretty deep. Pleasant kids, around 10 or 11, just boys having fun in the woods. A fine thing for kids to do. |

| A little rogaine practice this AM in Litchfield with our neighbor Chris and Erik, who has the day off from school. My foot is still really aching. Could I have a stress fracture? Just not recovering at all from the Highlander. |

| Had to pick Erik and Brian up from cross country practice, so Rhonda and I decided to run the Stratton Brook race course. Pretty fun. Some pretty good hills. We are not in any danger of making the team. |

| various warm up activities, then "Fran", alternating sets of thrusters (combined deep squat and overhead push press) and pullups. 21 reps first set, then 15 then 9. I used 30 lb dumbbells for the thrusters, instead of the 25s I had used the last few times. What a difference! Time for the workout was 13:00, compared to under 8 with the 25s. |

| Still very sore right foot and sore legs. I did go out and walk a bit. 2 hours at Breezy Hill with the Land Trust's forester. Also a busy afternoon watching Nysse's cross country meet (he was second in 16:59 for 3.0 miles), having a visit from my friend Tony, and going to an open space commission meeting. |

| Passed on yoga and pretty much everything else. Very footsore after 6 hours on Harriman rocks.
Watched Run Lola Run (1). Nysse was watching it for his film and literature class. Challenging for him because it is in German with English subtitles. Very fast paced - so much happens in just 1:20. Most movies are just way too long and slow moving. |

| Hudson Highlander - details in leg comments. Ran mostly with Phil, but also quite a bit with Dave Levine, Sam Levitin, Sharon, Tori, Dean. A bit with Glen and J-J. The number of times I will do this appear to be approaching a limit. A lot of trouble with agility on the rocks, and several near misses to a really crunching fall. Very sore feet and back, but not too bad for cramping this year. Even made it through the car ride home without having to issue the standard command: "Stop the car!" Peter Goodwin nice enough to drive on the way back. He was feeling spunky, I guess, having done "only" the lowlander. |
