Note

About 3 hours bucking and splitting firewood with Zack. I thought I might be doing some other things today, but he was pretty focused.
3 PM

Running 30:05 intensity: (3 @0) + (42 @1) + (47 @2) + (3:54 @3) + (16:58 @4) + (7:41 @5) 2.62 mi (11:30 / mi) +157m 9:41 / mi
ahr:153 max:217 slept:6.0 weight:165.8lbs shoes: 2012 gel kayanos

Two dog loops. Thought maybe I could get under 30, but not quite. Still, better than I have been doing, and would have been better still if I hadn't been too lazy to put on the icebugs. Slipped ominously a few times on icy leaves, but no harm done.
10 PM

PT exercises 25:00 [3]

Stretching and bridge variations while contemplating the inevitability of what was unfolding for the Patriots. The loss of this game will perhaps liberate me from paying as much attention.

Saturday Nov 28, 2015 #

9 AM

Note
slept:6.0 weight:165.6lbs

An hour of pleasant laurel wrangling with Matthew, a fine companion.
4 PM

Note

Last of the Thanksgiving company pulled out around 1:30. Not feeling very lively today. Tomorrow will be better.

Friday Nov 27, 2015 #

9 AM

PT exercises 1:00:00 [3]
slept:8.0 weight:165.2lbs

All of the legs and core exercises and some of the upper body, with Matthew in the gym. He was doing his own stuff, including some treadmill, rowing, leg exercises.
11 AM

Running 35:00 intensity: (2:02 @0) + (19 @1) + (3:02 @2) + (14:00 @3) + (13:09 @4) + (2:28 @5) 4.0 km (8:45 / km) +79m 7:58 / km
ahr:142 max:179 shoes: 2014 icebugs

2 dog loops, with Matthew. Matthew's first outing in icebugs, which seem prudent these days with leaves on the trail. The watch died part way around the first loop, so the time is a guess.
3 PM

Note

Laurel wrangling with Matthew, pretty much until dark. He is an enthusiastic disciple. Too bad he is not here more often.

Thursday Nov 26, 2015 #

10 AM

Note

I had other ideas, but Zack was feeling lively, so we split and stacked the rest of the firewood that had been bucked up. We sure have plenty now, but things are neater back there.
12 PM

Orienteering 32:45 intensity: (1:09 @2) + (10:30 @3) + (5:01 @4) + (16:05 @5) 3.49 km (9:23 / km) +170m 7:33 / km
ahr:161 max:210 slept:7.0 weight:162.8lbs shoes: 2011 icebugs

Loop around the RHINO course, considering some minor adjustments
3 PM

Other 20 [1]

10 ring pullups, a semi-competitive activity. Nephew Jake is supposed to be building up to 15 as a condition for baseball. He has a ways to go. My friend Dave also participated. He is a pretty dedicated cross-fitter, and this may be the only exercise I can beat him at, or at least one of relatively few. Could have done a few more, but no need to rub it in.

Wednesday Nov 25, 2015 #

5 AM

Gym 50:00 [1]
slept:6.5 weight:164.2lbs

Rhonda's morning class.
11 AM

Rowing Machine 21:42 [3] 5.0 km (4:20 / km)

For one reason or another I've been away from the rower for 10 days, while coach and chitown are putting up daily pieces. A little motivation. Maintained a steady pace, 23 strokes per minute, gradually increasing speed, but not by much.

PT exercises 1:15:00 [3]
slept:7.0 weight:165lbs

weekly session with Eric. Focusing more on upper body today.

11 AM

Hike 1:30:00 [1] 4.0 mi (22:30 / mi)
slept:8.5 weight:164.8lbs

Strolling around the woods out back with Rhonda, Sassy and Isabel, who has been visiting for a few days. My back is quite sore, but otherwise no ill effects from the BHT, and my back was sore before it started anyway.
