Running 16:59 [3] 1.34 mi (12:42 / mi) +102m 10:16 / mi
slept:7.0 weight:166.6lbs shoes: 2011 icebugs

One lap of the dog loop. In icebugs, which were sketchy with the snow over ice. Microspikes would have been a better choice. Anyway, slipping and sliding a bit, but the most running I have done in a while. I'm pretty far out of running trim, but would at least like to get a little in before I am off orienteering again.

Pretty clear now that Rhonda has what I had. Mostly just laying around and feeling miserable. She is two days into it. Took me 3 and a half.

Gym 1:00:00 [3]
slept:7.0 weight:167.8lbs

In the gym with Eric. Lots of stretching. He did some work on my legs with the stick. Yikes! Particularly the lower adductors. I am pretty concerned about the R adductor, first injured at the Corn Maze. It really hasn't improved much, and now I have only 4 weeks until sprint orienteering in Rome.

Also some other band work, some squats. Good for the glutes.

Hike 22:00 [1] 2.0 km (11:00 / km)
slept:7.5 weight:168.4lbs

Around the dog loop in microspikes with Sassy. About two inches of snow on top of the ice, but pretty secure and I half-jogged it. Maybe not 100%, but I would judge myself recovered. Still have the strange indigestion, but no longer feeling so weak and exhausted.

Note
slept:8.0 weight:168.4lbs (sick)

A bit better, but still pretty limited, still the indigestion, headache, lassitude. Took the dog for a bit longer walk today, but also took a few naps on the couch, not necessarily on purpose.

Note
slept:4.0 weight:169.6lbs (sick)

Finally just came downstairs. Much the same as yesterday, less indigestion, but still the headach, stuffy head and the rest. I was waking up 4 times an hour, not very restful.
12 PM

Hike 15:00 [1]
(sick)

Feeling a little better and thought I would take the dog out for a spin around the dog loop. Quite icy, but I was very secure in microspikes. Sassy not so much. She slid out several times going downhill, but she was game about it. Felt pretty good for a bit, but after about 600 m I was feeling chilled and tired, and I headed back as directly as I could, for another stretch on the couch. Maybe tomorrow.

Note
slept:5.0 weight:167lbs (sick)

I seem to be sick. I suppose it's a cold, but the most annoying symptom is persistent indigestion, also headache, runny nose, post nasal drip, very tired. Kick back and try to get through it.
3 PM

Note

This has been a difficult day, shuttling between napping while on the couch and dragging myself upstairs for napping in the bed. Very depleted, mostly too much effort even to read. Stuffy head, weak, bouts of runny nose and sneezing, etc.

Gym 1:00:00 [1]
slept:7.5 weight:168lbs

Rhonda's morning class, special edition, with Jackie and Karen.
10 AM

Rowing Machine 8:57 [3] 2.0 km (4:29 / km)

Just trying it out after another long break. Mostly OK, although out of breath by the end, and a few twinges, one along the inside of the R thigh that I strained at the Corn Maze and again and worse at the North Americans sprint. Not sure how to get that any better. I've been doing a lot to roll, stretch and strengthen it, but apparently to no avail. Also the R lower back complaining a bit. But gratifying just to be able to do it at all.

Hike 1:24:32 [3] 5.19 mi (16:17 / mi) +348m 13:28 / mi
shoes: 2012 gel kayanos

Around the neighborhood with Rhonda, including 3 laps of the Foxcroft-Robin-Ann neighborhood. jogging lightly down several of the hills, and then at the end taking Sassy out and around the hospital loop, very icy.
