Hike 45:00 [1] 2.5 mi (18:00 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:167.4lbs shoes: 2017 Gray Gel Kayanos

Around the neighborhood with Rhonda - the Ann loop. Picked up some roadside trash on the way back, and nice that the trash barrels were still out along the road so I didn't have to shlep it all home.

Note

Dog loop with R, Z and S, in about 5-6" of snow, quite pleasant. Stopped a few times just to look around. Sassy has been seeming a bit lethargic and off lately, but seemed to do fine out walking around. She had to stop pretty often to chew the ice out from between her toes, but it didn't slow her down much.

Trip around the Rhino, unencumbered by map, compass, dibber, headlamp or glasses. Really rather pleasant that way. I had hoped I could do it in 40, but ran into some folks who were strolling in the woods between #4 and #5. Still, not bad to be under 43, so a successful outing. The dog had no trouble keeping up. I run so little these days that it was even more dramatic how out of breath I get going uphill.

On reviewing the track, it looks like I lost about 2:30 chatting folks up. Seemed longer!

Nice picture of cadets from last night here.
3 PM

Orienteering 25:00 [0]

picked up half the controls. That is, half by number, as I just got the near-in ones and didn't have time for a longer excursion. I'll get the rest tomorrow.

Gym 1:00:00 [1]
slept:4.5 weight:166.8lbs

In the gym with Eric. Usual stuff. Generally felt pretty good, less tight than usual in the back, although my quads are pretty knotted. Deadlifts, goblet squats, pull downs, stretching and core.
7 AM

Note

Then Zack put me to work feeding the chipper, cleaning up the downed trees around the middle and back fields, spreading the chips on the trail. I ended up pretty darned sore and tired. He is a tough taskmaster. I took a break for a while around 11, went back out from maybe 1 to 2:30, and then that was all I could take.
