Note
Here is the eye report, after the follow up visit with the surgeon. He is satisfied with the progress of things. Pressure is 17, which is apparently just right. There remains one tiny piece of the old capsule material. He is not concerned about it and expects it to eventually get absorbed. The vision is 20/20 with the new lens, but still a bit blurry, and washed out as to color. He thinks that will all straighten out. He is not surprised that it remains irritated as there are 5 stitches in it. He said it can take 5 to 6 weeks for them to resolve. Right now I am on 5 kinds of eyedrops from 1 to 3 drops a day, depending on the drop. Next week I get to ditch 3 of them and go down to 2 and 1 times a day for those that remain, grading down until I am off them completely in another 3 weeks. The one that lasts the longest is a steroid, prednisolone. I also am on an ointment each evening, which I gather will persist for a while. I am more or less released to activity, although no swimming (not a big sacrifice for me) and generally being a bit guarded with what I undertake. So in general, pretty good. Thursday I go see the other surgeon, he who replaced the cataract, and see how happy he is with things.
