Back from CA on the redeye. The estimable Zack picked us up, and took us straight to my follow-up visit with the eye surgeon in Manchester, pushed up in deference to the storm. That ended up taking a few hours, since all the afternoon guys were now coming in the morning, and we struggled home in the first few inches of snow. By the time we got home, around 1:15 I was pretty out of it. Hungry, tired, and eyes too dilated to focus. No reason and no energy to do anything but rest.

Note

Here is the eye report, after the follow up visit with the surgeon. He is satisfied with the progress of things. Pressure is 17, which is apparently just right. There remains one tiny piece of the old capsule material. He is not concerned about it and expects it to eventually get absorbed. The vision is 20/20 with the new lens, but still a bit blurry, and washed out as to color. He thinks that will all straighten out. He is not surprised that it remains irritated as there are 5 stitches in it. He said it can take 5 to 6 weeks for them to resolve. Right now I am on 5 kinds of eyedrops from 1 to 3 drops a day, depending on the drop. Next week I get to ditch 3 of them and go down to 2 and 1 times a day for those that remain, grading down until I am off them completely in another 3 weeks. The one that lasts the longest is a steroid, prednisolone. I also am on an ointment each evening, which I gather will persist for a while. I am more or less released to activity, although no swimming (not a big sacrifice for me) and generally being a bit guarded with what I undertake. So in general, pretty good. Thursday I go see the other surgeon, he who replaced the cataract, and see how happy he is with things.

Gym (Yoga) 16 [3]

Most of my exercises. Holding off on the most inverted two for another several days or a week in deference to the recovering eye.

Very pleasant lunch with Dennis and Louise in Forestville, followed by a walk at the Windsor Riverfront regional park, cut a bit short by a trail that was washed out and by a return of the rain, but a very nice visit.
