With Rhonda, Tullio and Giulia. Broke into 2 groups pretty quickly, R and T off the front, but Giulia is a good walker too.

Hike 1:04:01 intensity: (9 @0) + (56:25 @1) + (5:54 @2) + (1:33 @3) 3.74 mi (17:07 / mi) +90m 15:55 / mi

Not the first walk of the day, but I did dodge the early engagement with Tullio. Just feeling generally tired and stiff.

Hike 1:37:33 intensity: (52 @0) + (1:34:47 @1) + (1:07 @2) + (47 @3) 6.34 mi (15:23 / mi) +57m 14:58 / mi
ahr:97 max:115 slept:7.0 weight:164.8lbs shoes: 2017 Gray Gel Kayanos

With Rhonda and Tullio from Pleasant Valley. We startled a good sized bear who scampered up the hill a bit before stopping to look back at us and glare. Driving back we stopped to let a large porcupine take his time crossing Ratlum Mountain Rd.
12 PM

Note

Chipping the debris from the other day's trimming. We got 4 spreader loads to put on the trails. I have been really impressed with how well the chips stabilize the trails. Virtually no runoff, even in heavy rain, building some soil, hiding some rocks.

Excursion with Rhonda and Tullio, around the neighborhood from our house. A stimulating uphill on the way back.

Monday Jul 15 #

Note

A good part of the day helping Zack with trimming various trees around the property with the boom lift he rented for the day. Strenuous, climbing in and out, manipulating the various limbs to keep them from falling on something important. He is very capable with machinery. Much better at that sort of thing than the old man.

7 AM

Gym (Yoga) 20:00 [3]
slept:6.0 weight:165lbs

Back a bit better. Still a fair amount of spasm, but stretch and roll. Eventually it should loosen up.

Sunday Jul 14 #

11 AM

Hike 1:13:09 intensity: (4:33 @0) + (54:57 @1) + (8:37 @2) + (5:02 @3) 4.28 mi (17:05 / mi) +105m 15:53 / mi
ahr:95 max:126 slept:7.0 weight:166lbs shoes: 2017 Gray Gel Kayanos

With Rhonda. Pretty hard. My left side was getting progressively more troubling the last several days in Rīga, and I woke up with some intractable spasms on Saturday, just in time to head to the airport. Really bad by the time I got home, and really bad this morning. Lots of rolling and stretching, but not really making a dent in the problem. So a little gingerly on the walk.
4 PM

Gym (Yoga) 20:00 [3]

I haven’t generally been writing it down, but I’ve been doing this every day. Today it helps a little, but certainly not enough. It will take a while to iron out the spasms in the glute, ITB and quad, and I need to get them released to deal with the pain in the low back. Pretty compromised.
