By prior agreement, no world record pace today. Me and Tullio, while Rhonda and Isabel walked separately.

On the way back, stopped at the bottom of the driveway to recover the rest of the trash from yesterday's bear incident. Apparently two of them had escaped with bags in opposite directions and tore them up when they got an appropriate distance away. This one was across the street. Yesterday I got the one up the hill in the general direction of the house.

Note

About an hour and a half of laurel wrangling, working on a fairly large stand all 10 feet high or so, with nothing else growing there. Today I cut a path through the middle of it. The remaining western part is pretty horrible stuff, but the part to the east is larger and nastier.

Our friend Isabel is visiting and Rhonda walked with her while I accompanied Tullio. He was on a mission to do this walk in under and hour and a half, and he really put me through my paces. Not sure how hard this one was for him, but I was pretty stressed by the pace.
9 AM

Note

Another episode with the bears getting the trash this morning. Our friend Lynn was coming up, caught three of them on video working the trash over. Now we are going to pursue getting a bear resistant can.
10 AM

Note

Chipped and spread a very large pile of saplings and mountain laurel with Zack. Tiring.

Back to the old grind with Tullio. Big company day. Isabel coming in for a few days from North Carolina. Our friend Sheryl is in town for a few weeks from outside Milan.

Hike 1:04:29 intensity: (2:04 @0) + (58:30 @1) + (33 @2) + (1:57 @3) + (1:25 @4) 2.85 mi (22:37 / mi) +2m 22:34 / mi

Last day in Nantucket, started walking along the beach, but the sand was a little soft for walking today, or at least for the kind of walking Rhonda favors - long and fast. So instead we wen over to the Linda Loring Preserve across the street. Nice outing, back in time for breakfast and a couple of games of corn hole with Fazli before packing up to catch the ferry. Fazli is pretty competitive and very skilled at a lot of sports like that, and also ping pong, shuffleboard, bowling and the like. Pretty sure I had never beaten him before at corn hole, but we were playing in windy conditions and it seemed to suit me. I took 3 out of 4 games. So now I am perhaps assured ti be invited again si he can have his revenge.
