Out with Rhonda along the Hudson before folks got up

Note

Took Cooper to a friend’s birthday party, schlepping him in the backpack because I was advised that would work better than the stroller for the subway. Pretty challenging for an old grandpa. Anyway, we walked across town to Brooklyn Bridge, took the 6 (the local) 6 stops to 23rd st, the environs of the party. The party was very nice: 20+ kids and at least that many parents at a kids’ play center. Since the subway ride seemed to be a little questionable, after the party we walked the 8 blocks south to 14th st to take the express one stop, and then home again. Cooper was pretty delighted with the whole experience.

Long discussion of the Italian political situation, both current and historical. I would be hard pressed to recount it in any great detail, but educational nonetheless. And I picked up a few new words of vocabulary (unrelated to the political discussion) - culturista and pattino a rotelle.

Zack doesn't understand why I do these rides at level 1 on the ebike. He can't see the point to using anything less than the maximum assist.

Along the Hudson while Cooper was napping after an outing to the playground this morning. Surprisingly difficult. I guess I just need to buckle down and do this from time to time. Chronically tender hamstrings, knees, hip flexors. Maybe they can be strengthened.
