L leg sore, even doing this. Lazy day, in a way. I did spend about 3 hours in the vegetable garden, mostly weeding, but otherwise laying fairly low. The promised rain still holding off as of 5 pm.
In the gym with Eric. A bit more than last time. Goblet squats, deadlifts, bent over rowing, pull downs, pushups on the bar, some bandwork, side planks. Not bad. We are doing these sessions masked up and it does get more than usually sweaty.

Pretty hot today, and the legs were not lively. Thought I would go up Sandy Brook at least as far as Pisgah Mt Rd, and then when I got there turned on Pisgah Mt to see what it was like. Unpaved, a bit bumpy and stony, but generally well-graded. Followed it until I was over 10 miles, and since I didn't know whether it would come out someplace interesting, just turned around. A bit of attention required on the downhill return. Anyway, I looked after and I was half way to the environs of the Colebrook General Store, so keeping going would have been reasonable. Next time.
I felt tired today, but nothing much hurt until the last two miles. My neck and upper back got stiff, and the L hamstring got progressively more sore. If it had seemed at all reasonable to just get off and walk back in my bike shoes I might have.
Last laurel wrangling for a bit. The tractor has some hydraulic issues beyond either my capability or my interest to figure it out, so off to the local tractor dealer. I'm not going to build up a monster pile to chip until it returns.

Golf, 9 holes with my friend Tom and our mutual friend Bob Staubatz. At Blue Fox, on the Red 9, which I haven't played before, or at least most of it. Several years ago they re-configured and went to 27 holes. The Red 9 has some of the old White 9, which also now has a few new holes, and the Red 9's new holes are along Nod Rd, so I've seen them a number of times driving by. Successful outing - didn't get hurt, and the golf was not so bad. I was never all that long a hitter and I've lost a lot of distance through age and lack of play, but the slice that was the bane of my game in the old days is pretty much gone, so not that bad an outing. One par, 5 bogies, and three others, including the loss of three balls and the resulting penalty shots. And home by 9:30.

Note
And not home all that long before it was time to go chip the big piles of laurel I had been accumulating over the last week. Time to go chip because the tractor is having some hydraulic issues and it is going in the shop tomorrow, and good to get rid of the piles before I made them any bigger. One pile was about 25 feet long, 3 feet high and six feet wide. The larger one was 45 feet long, 5 feet high and seven feet wide. Zack attacked them furiously. I had to take some rest breaks. By the time we got back it was almost 2 and I was pretty toasted, but the piles are gone. Zack is hoping I don't make new ones, but I'm making no promises. Anyway, certainly not doing any today.

Didn’t have a lot of time this morning, and Rhonda wasn’t going to go, so just a short excursion from home, which implied the trip up the dreaded Devil’s Elbow, so I took the ebike to flatten it a bit. Not so bad, and next time I’ll take the Diverge Comp, see how I do.
