Started off walking the dog on the dog loop with Rhonda, but then we cut over to the bridge and sat on the bridge long out at the pond, watching some phoebes and listening to the green frogs. A man approached from the east side and said, “Hello, are you Charlie?” So I’m a bit surprised, but said “Yes, are you looking for me?” Turns out he is with the Hartland Land Trust and they are in the process of merging with the Barkhamsted Land Trust. He had been walking on BLT property on the east side of the Big Down Marsh with Roger Behrens, whom I haven’t seen in some 10 years, and a consultant they’ve hired to do a management plan for the property. So we talked to him for a while, very nice fellow, and he had to get on his way. So we struck off in search of Roger and the consultant, found them shortly, and then had a very nice visit with them, ending up walking for several hours by the time we were done.

With Rhonda and her new bike. She was finding it uncomfortable to step over the top tube, so she got one with a step through frame. What used to be called a girl’s bike. Anyway, she sent me on ahead as she was just noodling along, but then she picked up the pace, ended up doing almost the same.

George the PT guy taped my shin again. Much better when he does it, although I think I have the idea now.
