Daylesford to Magpie...some kms past Ballarat near Bunniyong.

Started at 9.20 and finished at 4pm with hot chocolate stop in Creswick
Just 3 of us today - Ballarat riders Monica & Tracy were my companions, so they were bolting for home, so less pictures.
Gary was needed back at his work at the airport and Trevor was supposed to be bus driving but was at home near Bordertown convalesing.
Christine & Michael were tired and not so fit as at Mawson time so decided to help pack up.

We had trouble finding the start at Lake Dayselford ...into Sailors Gully area which was hilly, then a nice section in Wombat forest incl the short rail trail section...more single tk and then about 12kms on flatish bitumen or bitumen rds from Mollongghip, pas Dean and across to the next lots of bush behind Creswick.
Quick stop for our sandwich lunch here. Some more hills and one detour thanks to a lack of signage at a junction, then past St Georges lake on the N side and into town for a hot choccie. Highlight was a chook under the table inside the Bean...café.

Climbed out of Creswick mostly on dirt rds initially and went around the west side of White Swan reservoir and into Nerrina and onto nice single tk there. Emerged down and thru the koala tunnel and onto the creek trail past Black Hill oval & pool. Monica then led us thru some back streets util we finally rejoined the trail in central Ballarat going alonsidethe creek below Sebastapool. A lovely dirt track which I had ne been on before. The trail eventually went off to Bunniyong while we went to Monicas home in Magpie.
A good last day and wasn't too hard.
UP 1143 DOWN 1038

Got fed chicken and vegies by Tim cooked on the wood stove and then Michael drove me back to Castlemaine where we stayed with Alison & Tony Radford. Michael headed off to Sydney next morning.
