Road Cycling 4:59:00 [3] 101.0 km (2:58 / km)
Decided I needed a long ride but slept in too late to do Buffalo one.
parked near Vic park ...thought traffic would be gd as 300,000 were at the Xmas Pajent.. and others at the horse xc but it was busy on Greenhill...
Very slow on Turtur bikeway as had to get across South Rd unaided by lights etc - Glenelg. Sand stage for Missy Higgins concert tonight.
Along coast & up thru Kingston Pk CP to Hallet Cove bikeway and then the bikepath to the Southern expressway. Inadvertently took the wrong trail (Coast to Vines) southward - this was flatter but with many more rd crossings than SE veloway. Back onto the other one before Reynella & then onward to McClaren Vale and a brief stop for a sandwich.
Back on veloway with diversion to Noarlunga train station where I was uplifted to Hallet Cove (just because I could). Then to Glenelg and back via Edward st etc (past Edwardstown ps) as they were nice wide bike friendly roads.
Sad that friend Gillian Rolton (equestrian gold medallist & former teacher) died today from cancer at just 61 yrs ...in the midst of the International 3 Day event that she has directed and championed since its inception.
