commuter bike 3:10:00 [3] 59.0 km (3:13 / km)

Was meant to ride with Ori (mtbo rider from Sydney) this morning but hadn't heard from him so took myself off early on a flat ride, so as not to hurt the sore groin.

On bikepath along Torrens into town, past weir, where I saw Patsy Waxman's group loitering. Then along to brewery xmas display where I ran into Keith Conlon's group ... then took myself off to explore Bowden & Brompton which is being inundated with hi rise's.
Even the Adelaide Bike Kitchen has been told to vacate its old building.

Continued on via my old route to Woodville High, almost getting killed crossing south rd, where all the roadworks are...crossed halfway on temp pedestrian lights but from the middle there seemed to be no gap in the fence the other side ...and then a million cars came.
Sadness when I got to Woodville as St Clair Recreation centre ( the scene of many a BB game with 'the amazons" - a team where there were only 2 of us under 5'10) is halfway demolished.
Went a bit further on and connected with the 'greenway' route and took that back to Bowden. Had quick brecki at Hawker café, then past North Adelaide golf course and back along the Torrens on a different route.

Then off to teach littlies I the sun all day.

mt bike 1:13:00 [3] 17.0 km (4:18 / km)

Ori had left a message saying he could ride after work!
So a 2nd ride on a 39 degree day.
I drove over to Waterfall Gully (Basecamp café) while he rode out from town.
Was going to take him up Chambers - Windy tk circuit and then Pioneer Womens Trail but time was perhaps a bit short for that ...and I was definitely short on energy.

So up Waterfall Gully to the track entrance for Pioneer Women's Trail just past Chambers Gully entrance and up to the top. Sent Ori off around the single tk to west of Mt Osmond golf course while I waited. The weather had gone all grey by now, perhaps as a fore-runner to the change.
Lovely sight of 4 girls walking down from above the golf course fully laden with picnic baskets and food for a picnic on the summit. I mentioned that they looked like real pioneer women but I don't think that they got the connation.
Then Ori & I headed up Bullocks and I sent Ori off on the "deer" single tk while I cruised the road. Then headed back homeward down PWT, taking the exit to the top of Glynburn rd and then the big descent down.
Love showing interstaters this trail and the nice sights to Adelaide and to Cleland.
3 ice block day.
