mt bike 8:00:00 [3] 151.0 km (3:11 / km)

Got asked last night wether I wanted to go to Melrose for 2 days riding. Said no as I have cat sitting duties (from next door) and other things to do tomorrow. But arranged for Stu to drop me just north of Clare so I could ride back to his place in Manningham.

Having a drop in temperature to 25 degrees wasn't so beneficial as it gave me really blustery southerly headwinds for the whole trip home. 25-40kph.
Reisling trail (25km); Rattler trail (20km), to Auburn where I took on some lunch.
Then via the dirt OLd South Rd to Tarlee and then on quiet rds via Stockport, Hamley Bridge (82km = 4 hrs 25) and past Roseworthy AG college campus and then 5 kms more into Gawler. (114 = 6.03)
Actually right thru the Pinery fire area.
Paddocks look brown as the black ash and top soil has blown away.
Grabbed more food in Gawler and took some back streets and bikepaths into Adelaide.

Legs started to complain at 75kms and are really tired now.
A good day despite the headwind. Luckily I had some "Conversations with Richard Fidler" to ease the boredom on the latter half.

Road Cycling 2:57:00 [3] 63.0 km (2:49 / km) +747m 2:39 / km

Morning ride up the Gorge again but continued on to Gumeracha and then back over "Gum Hill" from the weir to Chain of Ponds and then around the reservoir and back down the Gorge. 6.40 for Gum Hill.
Only had 5 hrs sleep last night due to heat and reading a Judy Nunn book.
Her books are great but very long...
Very lethargic at beginning but got better.
Counted 55 riders out this morning, only 4 females in that.
33 degrees at start, 38 at finish.

Road Cycling 2:18:00 [3] 54.0 km (2:33 / km)

Early morning ride while painter did the study ceiling.
25 degrees when I started and 35 at finish.
Up the Gorge, with it being cool along the Torrens and to Cudlee Creek and on to Gumeracha weir and return

Despite it being really drought like there was water being let out of the reservoir into R Torrens so that the section thru Adelaide CBD might be cleansed of the bright green algae .... Perhaps we should let the R Torrens dry out over summer and give a realistic look re our water supply!

Some idiot woman pulled into the bike lane at Athelstone to go to the shop necessitating me doing an emergency stop! She gleefully said "but I didn't see you.." She had just passed me! Straight road. Sick of that excuse.

Now have paint smell and wet rotting chipboard smell fighting for supremacy in my house...

swimming 28:00 [3] 1.0 km (28:00 / km)

Woke up about 2am to the sound of running water...
Had I left a sprinkler running outside?
Decided to get up to investigate ....found 4 inches deep water in my kitchen and part of lounge .... Spent 2 hours bailing and mopping.
Kitchen cupboard chipboard is now wet and rotting. Curtains got wet, as did library books and other stuff I had left on floor.
Caused by new tube breaking, put in by Puratap last week!!

So, decided to go for my first swim of season, in 40 degree heat, in afternoon, at Payneham. Only had 1 other person in my lane.
Left shoulder, as expected, was weak from the outset.
Did mostly freestyle, with some breastroke to ease the stress on shoulder.

mt bike 1:25:00 [3] 32.0 km (2:39 / km)

To and from bike ed. Marden - Lockleys. Very hot on return trip.

Lee-anne, my RideABikeRight boss (and friend) is just sooo good with the little kids. Is always a joy to see kids getting riding and the amazement of parents too. Several went out after lesson 1 and bought new bikes that afternoon so kids could master their Xmas present bike under our guidance.
Today Lee-anne had water sprays for the kids and an icy treat at half time, and of course their "rider certificates" and snap bands.

mt bike 1:40:00 [3] 31.0 km (3:14 / km)

Rode to and from bike ed work at Lockleys PS.
Started from Marden as had to get back home after work to meet a TPG technician about my ongoing internet problems. Luckily it got solved.
Mostly along linear path but near South Rd there is a diversion until March on both sides of the river. Hot at 37+ on way home in afternoon.
