mt bike 1:30:00 [3] 20.0 km (4:30 / km)

XC race from Scout centre.
On a real rutty, shitty track and the course went the opposite way to the way I pre-rode it a week ago, so that was no bloody use.
Wasn't too happy re the rugged rocks and single tk start so commenced near the rear only for a rider ahead to crash after 500m - this lost me a long distance. First 2 laps (of 4) I was really unco and had to step off about 6 times incl the dangerous descent.

Then I found my mojo and passed a few people and rode quite well on the final lap. Got the usual comment from organisers ..." your laps just got faster and faster ...strange." Icing on the cake was being presented with my gold medal by Dawn Fraser ...had a bit of a chat.

mt bike 30:00 [3] 10.0 km (3:00 / km)

Out to Desert Park & return.

mt bike 1:10:00 [3] 20.0 km (3:30 / km)

Lap out to Telegraph station checking control sites for I/s event next Tuesday

mt bike 40:00 [3] 12.0 km (3:20 / km)

Guess at time.
After riding the computer all day I was almost late for my 4.30pm MTB Anzac Hill time trial. More so, when I couldn't find one of my fishnet stockings for 5 mins. We got penalised 1 minure if not dressed in fancy dress.
Hasty ride to start arriving with 3 mins to go,
Despite having ridden this course 4 times over the years I still struggled though I didn't have to walk like some.
I was in a slinky tart type number with cleavage showing. (My Alice friends are having a bad influence)
Best costumes were a jockey outfit and flying nun.
I still have sprinters cough 3 hours later.
Rode home hurriedly to change clothes and bike for road street sprint 1 hr later.

Road Cycling 20:00 [3]

Warmed up for sprint in the city centre on closed off roads.
Had to start on a high narrow ramp which was scary. Then I forgot to stand up on go, so wobbled down the ramp and lost some momentum.. Lost my heat to the younger girl but still won my age group.

mt bike 1:40:00 [3] 24.0 km (4:10 / km)

What a day!
Up at 5.45am to put 24 controls out for urban sprint for 7.30am start. Was ready at 7am. Courses were great, even if I say so myself - aided by a world class area. Everyone was rapt and by the time presentations were on a little group, all with varied useful skills, had bandied together wanting to form a club or at least be an offshoot of Top End. First meeting time has been made for this Friday - and was none of my doing!

I was bloody tired after presentations, doing media stuff etc..
Went in afternoon to collect some mtbo controls that were at far end of map.
2kms down the road I realised I hadn't put bike in car.
7 kms " " at TStation I realised I didn't have a lockable control key!
I rode back to collect one and then went out with only an hour of light left.
Got 5 of 7, so need another outing.
Then went for a short time to ASMG mid week party and got some 30th Games b'day cake. People dressed up in outrageous gear for this too.

Road Cycling 1:20:00 [3] 40.0 km (2:00 / km)

Road race - started at 6.04am(!) with 50yrs + women together, with horrific headwinds on return 10km each lap. (2 x 20km) I was wisely at the front on the turn and stayed with the main contenders until near the end of laps 1 when a solo guy got in the way of me going thru. Somewhat miffed as Vicky B & Marg Boylan were in that group of 4. So did most of rest by myself. Still beat Robyn convincingly. She was in the 2nd pack but also mostly by herself for the 2nd lap.

Road Cycling 20:00 [3] 5.0 km (4:00 / km)

easy ride down - hurt L upper hamstring / groin. Hurt when I stopped riding. Applied ice.

mt bike 22 [3] 8.0 km (3 / km)

2nd race for day - 4.30pm.
Dirt crit around the 1km kids berm course next to scout centre.
Had 8 girls in it in total and I finished 4th. I was rapt that I did so well, though my cornering was a bit ratty - people still thought I looked skilled.

mt bike 1:40:00 [3] 32.0 km (3:08 / km)

After a streesfull day organising Masters bush O in 37 degree heat. They started at 8.30am but still warm.
It went wonderfully well...and i gave them plentiful watermelon and other fruit afterwards. Divergent gp of people...after Alice locals and half crossovers from other sports of i/s folk.

I had a half an hour nap and then dragged myself back to Telegraph station for night mtb xc event. Still 34 at the start. Gender equality here as we all did 4 laps regardless of age. Just the day when i would not have complained at having a lap less!
Started neat rear and passed a reasonable number ...incl some woman many years younger. Felt better as the event went and rode superfast for majority singletk of 16kmh.
Had 2 excursoons into the bush at exactly the same place on laps 2 & 4. Others also found that bit of bush.
Very happy but tired and no tea til 10pm.
Lap times: 22.40; (half light) 25.18; 25.31; 26.25
