mt bike 1:52:00 [3] 23.0 km (4:52 / km)

Dropped in on Cobbler Creek to look at the new jumps and infrastructure put in the lower paddock. Very impressive incl an arty toilet. Played on the pump track and small jumps and then did several big climbs to the top and descents.

Great teaching day at South Downs PS at Elizabeth. The only kid who knew about O was an aboriginal boy i had taught in Alice Springs .....he is new to the school and this knowledge and gd running have given him much cred.
Yrs 5 & 6 helped with reception kids after learning everything themselves just 2 hrs previously!

Road Cycling 2:52:00 [3] 71.0 km (2:25 / km)

Missed the Bal group rd, so programmed a roadie ride after course setting at South Downs PS, Elizabeth.
After school riding out that way wasn't the wisest thing to do ...got told to "f off the rd" a few times and cars went too close deliberately in the first 10 kms.
I tried to check out whether any of the dirt rds leading to the northern end of the Gawler Expressway had been bitumised, but sadly no.
So I trundled back around Edinburgh RAAF base and onto the GE bikepath having already done 3o kms. Then rode hard for the remaining time (and 35km) heading north with tailwind towards Gawler. At end (after 12kms) I turned around into the headwind and rode back 12kms and then it took 16kms to get back to the car (parked for safety at a Main Rd service station)quite directly just before dark. Gd ride in the end.

Saw a strange car crash just after getting on the GE bikepath. A car driving on the dirt rd 100m ahead of me and next to the 4m high perimiter fence of the vineyard suddenly veered left into the fence. Then the driver must have put his foot on the accelerator as he hit the fence tearing off most of the front part of the car and then went at 90 degrees back onto and over the dirt rd and stopped. I thought he must have had a medical problem and was about to climb over the fence when a 40 yr old or so guy got out and looked extremely embarrassed. I checked that he was ok...

lawn mowing 45:00 [3]

Mowed the weeds just in time as neighbours had a party later.

mt bike 1:00:00 [3] 19.0 km (3:09 / km)

To and from conference again but on Aimee's more basic mtb.
Lovely weather and it rolled quite well.
Bit warm on way home, at about 34 degrees, so glad I had chance for a 2minute shower before finalising packing and off to airport.
To save money for OA all SA people had 2 flights home - Canberra - Sydney - Adelaide, as all cheap direct flights had been booked by SA All Schools Athletics team.
Luckily Erica Diment was able to take my bike home to her place in their wagon, as arriving about 9.30pm my chance of getting a suitable taxi was nil.
I took a normal taxi home and am picking bike up tomorrow.
