Road Cycling 3:40:00 [3] 74.0 km (2:58 / km)

Very dangerous outing...
Meant to do a 130km ride to Barossa. My flat tyre and search for a spare tube took time and M & D worked out that they needed to be back earlier than planned.
So we left at 8.15 and went up Gorge, Up to Lobethal and then the 5 or so climbs along Lobethal rd to Norton Summitt. Then back to Michelles place near Payneham swim pool and home.
There were so many cars and motorbikes with majority going fast and non too careful of sharing the road. Was scared many times....

mt bike 2:41:00 [3] 29.0 km (5:33 / km)

Ride with friends at Fox Creek.
I had thought that the Green Smoothie descent from top carpark had been fixed (after storm caused trees down and earth slips) but sadly not. So did the easiest downhiller descent trail carefully. Did newish Ant Logic trail (2nd time) and the completely new Climbing Ivy which starts from the bottom of ant logic next to Grandpa's campground. Was 4 kms of single tk up plus 2 kms on fireroad up at the end. Nice track gently going up but all the corners were mostly very tight and I couldn't ride all.
Did a couple of laps around the house and out to the trig point that has the remnants of a bike on it.
Will regret all this climb tomorrow.

Road Cycling 3:20:00 [3] 81.0 km (2:28 / km) +1142m 2:18 / km

Training ride for Alpine Raid with Michelle Couche, so she had planned a hilly course. Home - Tea Tree Gully - Up to Snake Gully, down & up it with 11% at end - just past One Tree Hill and then the long drive up past "Hannaford Hump" & burnt out Kersbrook forest to Kersbrook. Then L at Kersbrook and R up steep Hill rd towards Forreston - Gumeracha & lunch at Big Rocking Horse. This 47km had 916m climb, so 2nd half was flatter.

Then easyish ride down Gorge rd to home.
Rd from Gumeracha Weir to Chain of Ponds is still closed due to flood damage some months ago! Thus I avoided another hill.
I was slow for the first half trailing M up the hills but led up the 2nd half hills.

mt bike 1:40:00 [3] 31.0 km (3:14 / km)

After another great day's O at South Downs, Elizabeth. I even got morning tea and a Christmas card from a class!

Started at Carisbrooke Park and rode the roads carefully for 6kms to get to bike path behind Parafield airport. Then there was a sign saying it was closed! Ignored it....rode over several brand new sections - widening it hugely. Got through to Mawson lakes. Then off on South Para bike path, initially past salt lakes and water saving ponds all the way back. Was fun. Slightly sore L knee / hamstring later on.

Road Cycling 2:50:00 [3] 65.0 km (2:37 / km) +860m 2:27 / km

Time a quess as garmin not auto pausing.
Bal gp ride - 36 forecast, so I wanted to go early but M & D didn't.

I was ready to ride at 9 (30mins earlier) and Steve & Liz had the same idea so off we went on the longer course. Out to Mt Torrens, then L onto Burford Hill rd (terrible sidewinds) and L to Lobethal & then Woodside for bakery stop. I stopped and chatted with some of the other short course riders and then took off solo as S&L were going the short way home.

Up & Up Tiers rd, then over to lenswood and Up Lobethal rd to Deviation rd where we went L. All into a 45kmp or so headwind! And hot! Hard. Short steep 11% and then the lovely bushy roll thru the forest clad rd to Basket Range? on main rd just out of Uraidla and down mostly to Balhannah with tailwind.

Hard ride.
