mt bike 2:48:00 [3] 57.0 km (2:57 / km)

Set off at 6.30am with Andrew Campbell from Heavitree Gap GdayMate CP and rode to Simpson Gap thru the bush on the 17k bikepath ( from Flynns Grave,)made with much foresight in 1991.
Getting there we rode to Araleun school and then picked up the beaut bikepath weaving near Desert Park that finishes at Flynns Grave.
Temp for today is 38 and overcast. Luckily great cloud cover...showing another mood of Alice area. Strong headwind on way out and mostly tailwind on return. Very pleasant.
Saw the remnants of 10km run ASMG race.

MT Bike xc race 1:26:00 [3] 20.0 km (4:18 / km)

ASMG Night race from Golf club.
Stupidly they used the course normally used for elite stage races. When people complained they removed 4km of the nice stuff to shorten it. This meant there were quite a few non starters incl other woman in my class. All cycle events are being organized by a roadie guy.

I started at the rear of 44 and finished 36th and more than 30mins up on last 2 much younger women. Course was ok for the climb up the range but from 6 to 8km it was really rocky and slippery. Included the spit i washed out my front wheel and crashed in daylight in June, so i walked a bit. The other slowing problem was inadequate signage with only occasional reflective tape on trees and only 1 bit at corners so you didnt know where to go. Even a problem on golf course at end.

After the first third I really started riding hard and rode quite well. I know the descent from the top of the ridge quite well, so that was welcome. 3rd night in a row at golf club for presentations . Was nice to dit down with Alicefriends and have a bit of a chinwag over dinner.
Also was great to sleep in this morning...

Putting out 2nd lot of controls on TStation...took me longer than should have.
Then did map corrections with Lachy before heading to po printer

MT Bike xc race 30:00 [3]

6pm mtb crit race
I didnt feel l iike racing as felt physically and emotionally drained but was ok once it started.
A shitty course around the 18th hole at golf course.
Bumpy downhill, then a sandy section, then a specially built 1 rider bridge anf finished with long bitunen drive uphill.
I started at rear for 3 laps before passing 2 gur los , then later another one. Rode hard on the hills.
