Solid morning hit out. Burnie Park to Creamery road and return, will take a little while to get up to the speed the boys are travelling at the minute - spending plenty of time in and around the back of the pack. Good thing is that they are pushing pretty hard so i am working hard to stay on - more than i would do on my own, also loving the 5-15am get up time!!

Dropped nick at soccer training and headed out on the mtb bike. Legs still sore. Not a lot of intensity in ride, more time in the saddle than anything.

Morning in the cam valley riding hills. Not much distance but lot of hard work. Legs felt very heavy after yesterday's road ride. Windy and drizzle so ideal conditions!

Back on the roadie with the morning crew - decided need as many extra bike km as possible before geo. Eight up this morning so got nice long rest between stints on the front. Rode from burnie park to Wynyard and return. Nice to be out and about and enjoyed it a lot more than expected.

Recovery walk after last night in the Frenchs road reserve, felt a bit sore from last night so stroll with Jo and the dog was very nice.

Got talked into a run with Cameron so we did the short loop from Cape Bridge around the river track. I was a bit slow and sore at the start but after the first 3km started to feel better so up the pace a little then when got to a hilly section had a dip to see how the big fella went - did not move just sat on my shoulder all the way!

Late night trek training in the Dial Range. Left Ferndene about 9.30pm and treked up to summit of Gnomen then to gnomen carpark, from there off track to two summits one being a CP used on XPD. Good off track nav by AB got us there and back no problems. Came back down onto Hales rd for 5-6km trott back to the cars. Struggled with the hills for most of the night - just have not done enough climbing since XPD and apart from a rubbling stomach felt ok on flatter section. Good have Junior Muppet Hamish along for a night out.

Game v Smithton. Good run around although legs felt a little heavy. Got uo 4-1.

KAW training - Given a series of exercises and a maximum allowable number reps for each then we worked on our own to get as many as possible done in the 50 minute time period. Ende up with..... burpees x 60, push ups x 200, step ups x 100 each leg, tricep dips x 100, prisoner jumps x 100, shuttle runs x 20, lunges x 80 each leg and 280 crunches. Missed out on 2 x run loops and 20 crunches - although some of the crunches may have been questionable towards the end!!

Night run with the new head torch in frenchs road reserve, concentrating on hill climbs. legs were sore but managed to get up most climbs. A bit repiticious but some decent short sharp climbs.

Distance is a guestimate but probably not far off. Could not make Wilmot 2 hour so did a cruisy couple of hours on roads and tracks around Wynyard. Nice to get time on the bike even though not to difficult.

Early saturday run with Pete from Guttridge gardens - river track loop. Felt very flat to start with, gradually got in to to but still struggleville for most of the way, just good to get done!

First run for the year on pretty warm day, felt quiet good after struggling earlier in the morning on run. Got up 4-1 so good start. Finished teh day by umpiring a couple of games so legs weary by end of the day.

On the doubles again, this time in very rough conditions. Paddled into a very stiff cross wind and swell. Some of the worst paddling conditions for a long time. Was nice to get onto dry land!!

Paddle on the double with steve, AB and marms took the other double. pretty choppy for first part of the paddle, but when we rounded the point and ran with the swells it was great fun. Skis seem quiet stable.

Ride from Swanwick to fiendly beaches via old mine site and return with new muppet member Nick. AB and Steve stopped in mine site to set nav course for later on. Felt better on bike today but hill climbing was hard work. Nick did well for 1st hit out.

Tried out my navigation skills with mixed results. Took a bit longer than expected aided by a magnificent 180d loop. Went ok on the basic stuff but struggled off track and definitely need glasses and a better head torch. Also need to have take more notice of features. Good fun though and fisihed with solid jog back to car.

Out on MTB setting nav course with marms. Have not been on the bike for a while and it showed. Bonus was finding new tracks that i had not ridden before.

Out with steve and AB following nav course. All went well until thunder storm came over with plenty of lightning which made for extremely nervous last 30 minutes. One clap of thunder sent us all ducking for cover - scared shitless.

Early morning run with Pete, river track and more. Magic morning out - the good bit of daylight savings ending, crisp clear mornings. Moved well and felt ok.
