Trek 2:45:00 [3] 16.0 km (10:19 / km) +750m 8:21 / km

Trek with AB in the Dial Range. Turned into the training run from hell! First got to the top of Gnomen and found that pack had come undone and phone had fallen out, so retraced and found it (thank god) then climbing back up keddies track i looked up at the wrong moment and put a stick into my cheek and to finish off the 3 I come a gutser on a downhill section, hand and knee very sore - luck AB had just turned off the camera! Great morning that wouldnt have happened if AB had got my first "wimp out text". Lesson just go and enjoy........

Spent a couple of hours wood cutting and splitting in the afternoon and was very sore by days end!

Morning Ride from Burnie Park to Penguin, back to Howth Round about then up to Riania via creamery road, stotts road then back to Burnie. Bloody cold on the feet, some good climbing - lot happier with the MTB cluster on the road bike. Great morning to be out with some specy morning frost views.

KAW sposored training session. 5.15am is early start especially when warm up is push ups! Again solid session finishing with sit up / push up combination that was very tough.

Run from Somerset school to beach around to river up the Murchison then to the top of Somerset then back to the school. Felt good other than legs a bit sore from the week end.

Finished run then over to the goat track for 10 x hill efforts. Efforts at 3/4 pace with no rest other than the jog back down. Legs burning by the end.

Did part of a ride that i have been wanting to do from Burnie Park to stowport via fernglade, down minna road, up Cuprona road, down alberts road and up the nine mile. Rain had set in so we went down the zig zag and home along the highway. Plan is to continue along the nine mile and come down creamery road, up zig zag, down nine mile, up alberts road, down cuprona, back up minna road and home via fernglade which will give about 1000m of climbing.

Probably one of the worst standard twos game you will ever see. Bonus was 1-1 draw to keep unbeaten run. Only exercise for the day so tried to do as much as possible.

Dragged myself out of bed to have a ride from burnie park with the old crew. Did a hill ride from park to Poimena Rd then back down west moorville, east cam and back. Boys are moving very well, struggled to kepp up on the climbs but not off the back by too much! Was sore through the back from different riding position, 1st time on the road bike for a long time. Aim is to get a couple of rides a week in to add to training. Will need to get a bigger group set to make it more like the MTB.

Lazy run around Somerset. Feeling a bit crook in the stomach so just ticked along. Legs a little tired from the weekend so I felt the hills a bit.

Fun ride in the bush opposite Swanwick. AB broke a hanger so used the tow system to get him back. Seems to be effective, so might be on a winner with that one. Finished a very enjoable traiing weekend.

Great ride witht he Muppet crew from end of Coles Bay road, to the forestry behind Bicheno and return. Some good hills and great 4wd track - definitely had another winner finding tracks. Felt good most of the way and starting to eat better whilst moving. Aim now to get some 50 -80km mtb rides into the legs.

Muppets off track at night, same as Friday but a bit more elevation. Again a good night practice session with unstable terrain. Time and distance a guesstimate.

Off track night navigation practice with the full Muppet crew picking out knolls, track and creek junctions. Finished with a nice little run home. Good to be looking at maps again. Distance and time a guesstimate

Indoor workout with KAW. Kettle bell and push up circuit combined with boxing made for a solid session.

On the fluid trainer watching the tour. Bit more of a solid session with some km intervals. Tour was a bit more exicting with crashes and a good pace on.

Second sponsored training session with KAW. Nice and early 5.00 start! Work with kettle bells, smash balls and chin up bar work - reverse chin ups are now my most dis-liked exercise.

Ride the tour - lazy 39km earlier start than the tour as i was feeling weary from the 5am start. Unfortunately no real effort involved - had in big ring the whole journey.

Run from Fernglade Bridge, thru the reserve to Stowport then down the road back to Fernglade bridge then to old surrey road via a very overgrown track, onto romaine and back to Fernglade. Managed to run full stride into a log hidden in the ferns on the way uo to surry road which caused a great deal of pain! Had the new pack on and it felt very comfortable. Forget what nice area this is to run in and will look to do more here.
