Same run as yesterday except I walked the first 2km to the port sorell surf club, met up with lingy and did the rest of the run with him. Bit faster than yesterday so felt pretty buggered when finished.
Very casual walk with the dog early in the morning along the beaches around swanwick. Not a big night - in fact in bed at about 11pm. Kids stayed up to see in the new year and have plenty of ammo to give mum and dad heaps about not making it.
Time trial (of sorts) from swanwick to friendly beaches via the 4wd track. We were going for a dive so i left 15 minutes prior to the vehicles and pushed hard until they caught up. Was caught just before the water treatment plant on south friendly road. Pushed hard up the next couple of hills and thanks to the big spoon drains they have put accross the road every 400m soon caught back up to them! Was a bit of a cruise from there as the MTB was a lot quicker than the vehicles on that track. The spoon drains were great to hit at high speed - good fun ride. Got a lift back after a couple of hours diving.
Took the GPS to find some geocaches in the freycinet park and to see if i had set it up properly. Spent a great couple of hours rinding trails in and around coles bay.
headed out on paddle from swanwick to coles bay with marms and steve. Thought we might be in for a long time as marms fell off in knee deep water. went out over the sandbar and caught a few good swells in while we waited for marms. Decided to head for coles bay with steve via a lap of the island off muirs beach (not sure of name). Was keeping an eye on marms but when we got to the island couldnt sight him, so steve kept going and i paddled back. Found marms among the swells paddle away - apparntly he had a dips and was having one when i lost sight of him! paddled the rest of the way with him, got easier as we got closer to sure and the wind died down.
