MTB race 53:04 [5] 16.0 km (3:19 / km)

First leg of the Ben Lomond Decent - MTB. Drizzly conditions and a very wet track made for fun ride although a bit slippery. Great bit of track including a super sigle track section and some very fast decents. Felt good for most of the journey, was a joy to pass a few along the way. Aim was to try and push as hard as possible all the way, and i think i may have got close to that - probably still some int the tank though?

Paddle race 1:09:54 [5] 11.0 km (6:21 / km)

Ben Lomond Decent Leg 2 Paddle. Got a really good start after having to run across a paddock jump into the boat and start paddling. First 2-3 km went ok and I was feeling good with only 3 people in front of me but i got i bit excited and misjudged the line into a bend and ended up in the trees and swimming, got the boat untangled, emptied out while watching 8-10 people paddle past. Jumped back in caught and past half a dozen then did exactly the same, watched the same people paddle past. Off I go again and had good run to the end. Was a little disappointed in time, probably lost 6-7 minutes whilst swimming but should learn to stay upright. Boat was perfectly suited to the paddle.

Run race 50:50 [5] 9.0 km (5:39 / km)

Ben Lomond Decent Final Leg - 9km Run.
It was a very cold wait for the run leg to start but warmed up very quickly once it started, kicked away at a reasonable clip for the first 2km running with steve and watching the sprinters disappear into the distance picked up the pace foe next 3-4 km and were moving well over undulating roads, had to back off for the next couple of km as was struggling a bit, started to feel better again and finished ok. Was hoping to get under 50 minutes but ended up with 50.50. Steve looked strong and ran well.

Overall was happy with the effort, still plenty to do but it was nice to see people in the front of you and be able to catch and pass them. Havent been able (or want) to do that in the past.

played in the twos - lost first game for the year 4-0 - to much testosterone for a few of the boys - hard to win with 9 players.

KAW weekly training, different instructor for the evening which made for a challengingf session. Enjoyable as usual.

Great session with KAW. Worked bloody hard for the duration. Just loving the Turkish get ups. 5.30pm definitely much better time than 5.15am.
Finished with a core exercise which involved balancing on two fit balls......was not easy!
